I Love My Landlord
How often do you ever hear that? Well I say it pretty much every month. LOL Our landlord is such a sweetheart. She knows that we have been struggling with finances for quite awhile, so every month when we ask is it okay if we pay a week or so later, she never gets upset. I know that the complex is down on tenants right now, so I’m sure that works in our favor in the fact that they want to keep as many people now as they can. Not to mention that they are probably making a profit off of us right now when we pay an extra $50/month each time we don’t pay on time. LOL Hey… I’m willing to shell over the extra money for that little bit of leniency.
So now we just have to get by to next week. We actually pretty much had rent paid when we were still in Nebraska. Too bad that we ran into some not so nice weather on our way home and ended up stopping in a little podunk town in Wyoming for a night and buying a new tire the next day so that we could make sure not to slide into a ditch.
Thankgiving was awesome. Got to see most of my family. I remember when I was younger how I thought that my Grandma’s house was so huge. Well… it’s still big, however the family is bigger. When all was said and done there were 27 people in the house on Thanksgiving day. Imagine if the other 2 sets of family showed up. Yeah… the house was bursting at its seams. =) It was fun though.
I have so many pictures that I need to get on the computer. I’ll probably do that tonight before I head over to Christy’s. I have to remember to tell Jacob about that. LOL Hopefully he won’t throw too much of a fit about me spending a little while over there. I haven’t really been home at since we’ve gotten back from our trip. Life goes on through. What can you do?
I got to see Ami last Friday when we were in Wakefield. We went uptown to watch the end of the Nebraska-Colorado game. It was somebody’s birthday party that night up at the bar, so there was a keg of free beer. Can’t beat that! So Jacob and I hung out with Bob and Deb for the night. There was also karaoke down at the other bar, so after awhile we ended up down there since Bob loves to sing. More people started to show up and at about 11:00 Ami’s mom walks into the bar. I gave her a hug, and she asked me if Ami knew I was in town. I had to admit that I hadn’t even taken the time to call. I felt bad. Lucky for me, Ami had come in right behind Sherri. It was the typical squeel and jump around reacting you see in the movies when we saw each other. LOL We made quite the scene I’m sure.
After that we continued to just sit and drink and have a good ol’ time. At the very end of the night before the bar closed, Brittany came in the bar with Tyler and his baby mama. Lana is such a bitch. She’s stuck up and didn’t want anything to do with Ami or me. I didn’t even bother trying to talk to her though. Ami and I told Tyler what we thought of her. LMAO He just laughed. Brittany was also her usual stuck up self. I just don’t get her. In fact, Ami and I just got off the phone literally two minutes ago. We’ve come to the conclusion that we think she is jealous of the fact that we got out of Wakefield and actually have done something with our lives. We didn’t get stuck there like Brittany. But she chose to stay there. She had the chance to get out, and she didn’t take it. And we also think that she’s gay. I personally have my reasons for actually thinking this. At one point I thought maybe she swung both ways. But now… I think she’s gay. It’s really the way that she presents herself. She’s kind of just let herself go. I don’t get it. And no I’m not saying that lesbians just let themselves go, so don’t even go there with me.
I’m thinking about sending Brit an email asking her what has caused her to be so distant. You would think that when a friend who lives 1500 miles away comes to town, that you might show some sort of excitement to see them when they are around. Not her. Ami does. Shit… I even got a hug from my OLD best friend at the end of the night last Friday (and we have absolutely NOTHING to do with each other anymore). Yet Brit could care less. Maybe I should just let it go.
I am happy to say though, that while I may finally just let the friendship with Brit go (at least for now) I have now reconnected with my childhood best friend Sunny. I found her on facebook some time ago, so we’ve talked via computer occasionally here and there. On Sunday, when we were on our way across Nebraska, we stopped off outside of the town that Sunny lives in. She and her husband and little boy met us at the truck stop outside of town and we got to sit and talk for about 45 minutes or so. It was so fun to get to see her. I hope that we continue to strengthen our friendship again.
She is going to be in Oregon next summer doing a triathalon. I’m hoping that we will be able to drive up to see her and maybe spend the weekend with her once the race is over. =)
Well, I better get back to work. I’ve got a few things left to do for the day, and I’m trying to stay on track.
Laters,
JamieLynn =)
Glad you had a good time on your trip!!! Can’t wait to see the pictures. (Where in Oregon is Brit doing her triathlon?)
