Getting Back to Normal
Things are getting back to normal again which is nice. It definitely helped to vent a little in my last entry about my darling husband. It basically came down to the fact that he was super stressed out because his grandmother was in the hospital and things weren’t looking good at the time. Thank God that she was able to start breathing again on her own. She has recently started focusing more on her relationship with the Lord in fact, and the night that she went to the emergency room, she said that she basically just let go and put her life in His hands. As soon as she did that, she started breathing on her own which was key to her recovery. It was to the point where they were getting ready to intubate her, and they weren’t certain that if they did that they would be able to bring her back.
Wednesday night was my last work out at Cross Fit for four days. We ended up going up to Redding to see Nana that Thursday and stayed with Jacob’s mom until Sunday. We probably should have come back sooner for the sake of our nerves, but we ended up staying the full weekend. Jacob keeps saying that he’s done going up to stay with his family. He gets to the end of his rope with them rather quickly, so it probably is best. I had a talk with him on Saturday though about how angry he gets with his mom and his sister. He doesn’t agree with the decisions that they make but at the same time the decisions don’t have any effect on him, so there is no reason for him to get mad. He was able to see my point of view after a bit and realize that it was pretty silly to be so angry over these particular situations. Anyway… don’t feel like getting any further into that.
Since we were at his mom’s house for 4 days, I didn’t do any working out. You would have to pay me piles of money to get me to even touch her floor which meant no push ups/sit ups. It was also raining all weekend, so there wasn’t much opportunity to go outside and do much either. In addition to not working out, we ate out. Way more than we should have. And it wasn’t exactly healthy food all the time. By the time we were back on Sunday, I was certain that I had just sabotaged any decent results that I would have had for the week.
Come Monday, I decided that I was going to squeeze in Cross Fit before I went to Bible study. OY! It was no fun. I had only climbed 10 flights of stairs at work that day, and was not looking forward to the work out. But if I was going to get back on track, I knew I had to go. I struggled with the workout and technically didn’t even finish, but I did my best. Later when I weighed in at Christy’s house, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had lost the weight that I gained last week plus a pound. I’m now down 10 pounds total and hope that I’m on track to finally start to steadily lose weight each week.
The flight totals for the rest of this week so far have been Tuesday with 24, Wednesday with 10, and Thursday (today) with 40. My goal is to not drop lower than 30 flights a day for the rest of the challenge. I want to keep raising the bar for myself. I find that I have to play mental games with myself though to get in what I need to get done for the day.
So much has gone on this week, I feel like I’m rambling! I’ll be back later to update more. It’s time to go home for the day!
Good to hear your husband’s grandmother is doing better, and especially that her faith is stronger. :))))))) Good for you on the weight loss success, and you have a great weekend!
