Broken Truck

Jacob broke my truck this weekend!!!  =(  I’m so frustrated with the situation, it’s not even funny!!!  It’s something that could have totally been avoided, but no… my wonderful boyfriend had to be superman.  He was changing the brake pads on the truck this weekend, and did a wonderful job at it.  Was down to tightening the last bolt, and decided to be superman and tighten it to the point that the head of the bolt broke off completely.  After he did that, he tried to rig it up to make sure that the brake would stay on tight enough.

When he rigged the brake up and got the tire put back on, he went to move the truck, and low and behold the tire didn’t turn.  That led to the bar that the tires are on bending slightly, and the barings in the tire itself seem to be messed up now too.  It’s going to cost $180 or so to get the bar replaced, and we don’t even know how much it will cost to get the tire barings fixed yet.

Luckily I’m able to do half of my job from home, but I have to be at my other office by noon today, and may have to chance driving the truck over there.  Jacob’s step-dad could give me a ride to work, however I don’t know how I would get home then because he wouldn’t be able to pick me back up.  I’ve tried to call my friend to see if she could give me a ride home, but now that I sit and write this, I remember that she said she was going to Sacramento today to visit her father.  Looks like I’ll have to chance the truck on the freeway.  All I know is that I HAVE to be to work no later than 12:30.

I’m trying my hardest not to go off on Jacob about this, but this simple fact of the matter is that it IS his fault.  I know that he didn’t do it on purpose though, but at the same time he should have been using the utmost care with this truck, as it is our ONLY form of transportation right now.  It’s just a frustrating situation all around.

Well, I guess I better get ready for work.  Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me.
