Breathing a Little Easier
So I’m coming close to the end of my available unemployment benefits. I’ve been feeling rather anxious and stressed because once unemployment is finished, then what? Well I’ve had a few people say that they thought that unemployment had been extended, so with fingers crossed I logged onto the website today to see if I could find any information. Calling isn’t an option due to the fact that the unemployment department is so swamped right now that if you get through to somebody it’s like winning the lottery.
I was happy to find that once the unemployment benefits run out, I will more than likely be eligible for at least one extension if not two or three! I am breathing much easier today. LOL
I do have a bit of sad news though. My aunt (who has actually become one of my best friends) recently got back in touch with a guy that she used to date 20 years ago. For whatever reason, things didn’t work out. I think it was the age difference. He often told her that she should find somebody closer to her age as he is 13 years older than her. So they reconnected via facebook just recently. They have been talking on the phone and just rekindling their friendship. Vicki still has strong feelings for Ron after all the years though. So the other night I was on facebook and I see all the sudden that so is Vicki. I asked her what the heck she was doing up so late, and then she told me that she had just found out that Ron had had a massive coronary that morning. His business partner had found her name in his phone and for whatever reason thought he should call her even though he didn’t know who she was. So this week has been a rough one for Vicki because Ron is in Texas and she is in Nebraska. She has had to rely on updates from his business partner Matthew to find out what has been going on.
They went ahead and put Ron in a medically induced coma and lowered his core body temperature in order to give his body some time to relax and heal. Well after three days, they started slowly bringing his body temperature back up. Yesterday there was a good report that Ron had opened his eyes and made eye contact with a friend that was sitting with him, but there was no way of knowing if he knew what was going on. Well Vicki called me this morning to tell me that now Ron has had several seizures since yesterday evening, and unless things turn around quickly, they are planning on taking him off of life support tomorrow. I am so sad for her. So sad for him. To be able to reconnect and pick-up their friendship, only to lose one another in just a matter of weeks. It hardly seems fair.
I pray that God works a miracle in the next few hours.
That is very sad. I hope that he pulls through.

Ironic and sad. Evidence that you should take your best shot when it comes up.

RYN: True, it’s a great song to get pumped for anything to, but yeah, it worked great with the show. You should totally check it out. It’s very easy to get into if you watch it from the beginning.
