Back From Vacation
Well we made it to Nebraska for vacation and then back to California all in one piece. It was a great vacation, and extremely hard to have to come back. Now that I’m back in California, I’m fine, but when it was time to leave my friends and family again, I was having a pretty hard time of it. But I survived, and now I’m back at work staying extremely busy as always.
It’s hard to believe that it is now less that one year until our wedding. OMG!!! I’m so extremely excited. =) We haven’t gotten too much more planned really. Just a few things here and there. The great thing is, is the fact that my mom and aunts are pretty excited and seem to be more than willing to help me plan this all out. The much needed assistance will be greatly appreciated.
We have our transportation booked for after our ceremony to the reception site. My step-dad has a friend who has those huge draft horses kind of like the horses you see on the Budweiser commercials. LOL We are going to be pulled in this huge decorated wagon around town and to the receptions site. And even better is that it probably won’t cost us much of anything since the guy is such good friends with my step-dad. =) I’m super excited if you can’t already tell.
So we were pretty damn busy pretty much the whole time we were back home. I think there was really only one day where we didn’t really do all that much, and even then we still did go somewhere and do something. Kinda funny how I have to come all the way back home and go back to work in order to relax from being on vacation.
When we first got back to Nebraska, Andrea picked us up at the airport. We stayed with her and Darren and the kids for the first two nights. She graduated from cosmetology school, so I wanted to be there for her for that. I’m so happy that she has finally been able to complete this. She also treated me to a free hair cut and coloring. A much needed hair cut and coloring might I add. My hair was way too long and FRIED like no other from the ocean water and the pool water. So she cut off about 5-6 inches of my hair and layered it. I really like it now. It is pretty cute if I do say so myself. And she also colored it… a dark brown with a hint of red. I’m pretty pleased with how the color came out too. It’s a bit lighter at the top and then my ends are pretty dark.
Friday night after Andrea’s graduation, we got super duper drunk. OMG!!! I have not been that extremely drunk like that in so long. Between Andrea and I, we drank a bottle and a half of Crown Royal. Talk about trashed off my ass. LOL And unfortunately Jacob thought it would be fun to take pictures of it all too. LOL Let’s just say, these pictures are not something that I plan on sharing with many people. LOL
On Saturday we all drove back up north. Andrea had a family reunion that weekend, so they gave us a ride to the lake where we met my mom and step-dad. It was fun times that day. Jacob’s brother and his family ended up driving down to the lake to see us, and spent the afternoon there with us as well. We all went out on the pontoon boat for a ride around the lake, and then the guys went tubing. For those that don’t already know, that is where the intertube is pulled behind the ski boat. I wanted to try, but ended up not doing it.
Sunday was our engagement party at my Aunt Vicki’s house. It was so nice seeing all of my family again. 3 out of 4 of my bridesmaids were there too. We had lots of food, and let’s just say that Jamie was not on anytype of diet when she went home. LOL After my aunt’s house, Jacob and I went with my two friends and hung out and played cards for awhile.
Monday was the 4th of July. We went on the raft ragada with my friend Ami which was fun. We didn’t get in the water until about 1, and ended up dragging ass most of the way because the creek was so low. Surprisingly though, it only took us about 3 1/2 hours to finish the whole 5-6 miles trip. I did fry my legs though. LOL Talk about SUN BURN. It was so bad that I ended up having the chills for most of the night afterwards.
On Tuesday, Brit came down to Pender and picked Jacob and I up, and we camping with her and some of her friends down by the river. It was really fun to say the least. We went boating on the river for pretty much the whole afternoon. Got in the water for a bit and floated along with the boat. We also went tubing on the river. This time I did try it though. And it was a blast!!!! I look forward to doing that again sometime. That night we cooked out, and Brit got way too drunk and turned into a little ho. Don’t really want to go into details, but it kind of made me sick, and I can only imagine what Jacob "really" thinks of her. Needless to say, I think that he likes my other friends better than he likes Brit.
Wednesday, we got up and went back to my mom’s house for the day. Took a nap in the afternoon, and then went to my uncle’s farm for a bbq. Jacob wanted to go out there to ride the horses, which he did. He did really well, and they pretty much just showed him how the horse was trained and then let him do whatever he wanted. I’ve got pics that I will be posting in another entry.
Thursday was the day that we didn’t really do much of anything. We did end up going to Norfolk though, and I did get my eyes checked as well as get a new contact perscription. I’m pretty happy now that I can really see again. LOL
On Friday, we ended up going to Jacob’s brother’s house. They had been bugging out all week because we hadn’t really seen them at all except for the one day when we were all at the lake. So we went up and spent the night with them. Jacob and I, and Shawn and Seth went to the bar for awhile that night and played some pool and darts for a bit. Then we went back to the house and watched our Dane Cook dvd.
Saturday was race day. I was able to actually sleep in until about noon while Jacob went with Seth to work on the race car. Then that night we went to the races in Norfolk. Ami ended up going with Shaun too, so I was able to spend some more time with her that night too. After the races, we hung around and drank for a bit before driving home. LOL Real smart huh?
On Sunday, Seth took us back to my Aunt’s house where we had Sunday dinner with some of my family, and spent the afternoon visiting. We ended up going back to my mom’s house then, and my aunt came down too and made cookies for my step-dad even though I was the one that was supposed to be making them. LOL&
nbsp; We talked a bit about the wedding and different plans there. One thing that did get changed is that we are not going to have any little ones in the wedding. It just didn’t look like it was going to work out. Luckily when Jacob told Shawn and Seth, they didn’t really care all that much, so there wasn’t any drama in the situation.
Monday morning we got up and made the journey down to Omaha with my mom. It was hard to leave again, but now that I’m back out here, I’m fine.
One thing that I’ve decided though, is that I can NOT only go home once a year. I’m going to have to figure out a way to go back at least twice a year or more. We are going to try to plan our next trip in Febrauary which is when Shawn is having a surprise birthday party for Seth’s 30th birthday.
Okay… well now that I have written a friggin’ novel, I suppose I had better get back to work. Pictures to come later.
Laters,
JamieLynn =)
