Amazing Friends

Today was quite a good Monday.  Work was the same as usual, but it wasn’t too stressful.  It was pretty chill for the most part actually with the exception of SOMEBODY who for whatever reason constantly thinks that it’s acceptable to cop an attitude at any given time for no reason.  I’m not going to name names *coughcoughshannonchough* but it really does tend to get frustrating after so many times of being snapped at or hearing other people in the office getting snapped at.  I guess that’s why when I unintentionally snapped at her this morning, I didn’t feel quite so bad as I normally would if it were anybody else. *insert quiet snicker here*

Needless to say, a little birdie told me some information about this said person, indicating that we may not have the pleasure of working with her too much longer.  I’m not really going to go into it, simply because first of all I’m not supposed to know this information.  Second of all, I’ve said what I have to say about this person, I’ve had my confrontations with her in the past, and should she end up no longer working at the office, I hope that she is able to get on a much more positive road in her life than she obviously has been in the past.

Tonight was my Monday night bible study at Christy’s and it was funny that one of the younger girls started talking about a friend of hers that she really just doesn’t like anymore due to the girl really not being the type of person that a friend should be.  We ended up talking about what we should do whenever we have to interact with people in our lives that we just don’t like.  We came to the conclusion that there isn’t exactly a general answer that will apply to everyone in this type of situation other than prayer.  Pray for the person that there is conflict with that their hearts may be softened towards others around them and that they may speak with a kinder tongue instead of being so abrasive all the time.  At least that is what I will be praying for in my situation.

After bible study was over, I was telling Christy about the online scrapbooking that I had started.  I actually made another scrapbook yesterday afternoon using pictures from the baptism of four of the people from our church last weekend.  I can see that I’m going to be improving on my creativity the more that I devote my time to making new pages.  There is already a big difference in the pages that I made yesterday, and the first few pages that I made on Friday and Saturday.

I showed the pages that I made to Luann on Sunday night before our Sunday night meeting, and she really liked what I had done.  I sent the link to Andrea yesterday then so that she can maybe share it with everyone when she emails the weekly newsletter on Wednesday and also post the scrapblog on the church website.  She didn’t respond to me today though, so I don’t know if she got the email or if she just didn’t like it.  I really don’t see why she wouldn’t like it and think it would be good to share, but maybe I’m just tooting my own horn here.  If she doesn’t include the link in the newsletter, I’ll just email it myself to the people that I think will want it the most.  =)

Anywhosit… back to what I was saying… So I was telling Christy about the online scrapbook that I made for the baptism pictures.  I mentioned to her that I was looking forward to getting a photo printer that can print 8×10 prints because I think printing the scrapbook pages that I make online will look really pretty printed out on photo paper.  She started walking into her garage, and pretty soon she was pulling out a box with a brand new Canon Pixma MP470 printer.  She simply gave it to me.  They had bought the printer for her mother, but her mom decided it would be too much trouble to ship it to where she lives in Norway, so she didn’t take it.  They didn’t know what they were going to do with it, so while I was sitting there rambling on about the projects that I wanted to do in the future, she grabbed the box and gave it to me!  How amazing is that??  Seriously??  Who does that??

So yes… I do have amazing friends!  Not to say that I didn’t before, but I have literally known Christy for less than 4 months, and she has welcomed me into her home every week.  She has embraced me as a friend.  Given me the gift of her fellowship.  Offered financial assistance if Jacob and I should ever need it.  AND now given me a pretty expensive gift just because she can.  She could have easily put an ad on craigslist and sold this brand new never used printer and made some money, but instead of doing that she gave me this gift out of the kindness of her heart.  I don’t know if I’ve ever really been more touched by a gift in my life.

Oh… and not only is it a photo printer, but it’s also a regular printer/copier/scanner.  =0  Yeah… I’m still in shock right now.

Christy represents the type of people that I have the privledge of spending time with every Sunday.  I really couldn’t be more thankful for having found my church.  This is the way a church should be in my opinion.  The people that I spend my Sunday mornings with are an extention of family to me now.  How could I not be thankful for that?

Thank you, God, for your blessings.  I am forever grateful.

JamieLynn =)

P.S.  Why do electronics companies like Epson and Canon not include the USB cables for their printers.  I think that is just plain silly.  Greedy much?  LOL  Luckily I’m able to save pictures to my memory card from my computer and I can just plug it into whichever printer I’m using.  =)

It sounds like you are surrounding yourself with some great people. 🙂

Online scrapbooking sounds like loads of fun! How do you do it?

i agree with the first noter. the people you surround yourself with is key to how you live your life i think. not that you are easily influenced, but its nice to have that support and unconditional friendship you seem to share with them. awesome! ryn: yeah, speaking of Twilight, how stoked are you that the movie is bumped to Nov. 21???!

ryn: My friend pierced my third holes in my ears with a dull saftey pin. So I have had friends pierce me. That doesn’t mean I condone it for my younger sister! 😉 Do as I say, not as I do, right?
