10 Weeks To Go

Theodore Roosevelt’s ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN
in 1907.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant
who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to
us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is
an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or
birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in
every facet an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no
divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something
else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the
American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the
English language… and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."

Thought that would be a good way to start an entry today.  It’s been a few days since my last entry, but I’m still sticking to my rule of trying to write more here.

So what’s new?  Well… quite a bit I guess.  I believe I will do a list entry today!!!!  =)  Gotta love lists!

~~So the President was here last Friday.  It really wasn’t all too special.  Most people stayed home that day, but did WE get to stay home and work?  NO  Because our manager is a MORON.

There ended up being a few protestors out in front of our buidling across the street.  One of the most famous protestors right now, Cindy Sheehan was there.  I personally think the woman is stupid as hell, but hey… she has her right to free speech.  Unfortunately she uses it.  A lot.  LOL

I have pictures of  a few things.  We didn’t really even see the President.  They snuck him in really fast while everybody’s attention was diverted by the protestors.  We basically only saw when he took off in the helicopter to go to his next stop.~~

~~The same day that the President was here, I ended up going off on my manager.  Yeah, the moron that I mentioned before.  He is such an ASS.  It’s really a long story as to what happened, but long story short, I told him that he stresses me out… that I don’t work well under stress… and basically told him in so many words that he needs to work on his communication with me and stop stressing me out.  LOL

He mentioned something about how nobody on our team likes him… I didn’t disagree… LMAO  I just told him that he should look into the way that he communicates with us, and that he would get a better response if he wasn’t alway so negative and didn’t always add stress to an already stressful job.

He said that we would meet sometime this week just the two of us.  I told him "No thanks."  LMAO  I know I shouldn’t have been so blunt in that manner, but I don’t want to be in a room alone with him.  He creeps me out!~~

~~Saturday we ended up going to see Jacob’s best friend Matt and his wife up by Sacramento.  Matt is the best man in the wedding, and I still had never met him!  We had fun times while we were there…  went to a casino close to where they live… went back to their house and smoke a bowl or two and drank while we played cards.  Sunday, everybody slept in.  That afternoon we went out to eat, and then Jacob and I drove back home which is about a 2 1/2 hour drive.

Matt and his wife just got married last year in July, but they never took a honeymoon because she was pregnant at the time.  So we were talking about maybe taking a joint honeymoon in a few months since Jacob and I won’t be taking a honeymoon right away after the wedding either.  We talked about going on a cruise or something.  That would be fun I think.  Guess we’ll see if that pans out or not.~~

~~Work this week has been… well… work.  I always have lots of it.  In fact it is probably piling up while I sti here and write this entry.  But do I care?  LOL  HELL NO!!!~~

~~I talked to my mom about helping out with some more money for the wedding.  She said she is going to send me some money this week so that I can get my plane ticket home next month.  Prices are going up the longer I wait.  Actually not really going up, but I’m running out of options for the cheaper flights the longer that I wait.~~

~~I also called my dad and left him a message on his answering machine.  Asked him if he would be able to help out a little bit more with wedding expenses.  He sent me an email yesterday afternoon and told me that he would be able to help out, and to just let him know how much we need without asking for him to pay for the whole thing.  LOL

Leave it to my dad to say that he’ll help but not with ALL of it.  Well NO SHIT!!  I didn’t ASK you to pay for all of it.  WTF!  He’s always been like that though.  That’s why I waited until the last minute to ask him for anything.  LOL  So I’m trying to figure out how to ask him for about $750 and make it seem like it’s not that much.  I could tell him how much is left for everything and then say we only need $750 from him.

If he gives us $750 and my mom and step-dad give us $750, then Jacob and I will only need to worry about paying for $750 a piece, and we should be okay.  I think we’ll be able to pull this thing off after all.  Now I only have to worry about making sure my dress fits.  THAT is going to be interesting.  I’m not even going to get into this issue.  LOL~~

~~Jacob started his new job this week.  I’m not really going to say anything about it.  His boss from his old job found out that Jacob offered some of the other employees jobs with him.  That pissed his old boss off like no other, and he got all pissed at Jacob.  LOL  I thought it was funny though.  Oh well… he’ll deal with it.  Only one of the people left to work with Jacob anyway.

As far as the job goes… I’m not sure really how well it is going for him yet.  Guess all we can do is keep our fingers crossed that it lasts until at least the wedding.  LOL  After that I could care less what happens.  I just need him to have a steady income for a couple more months.~~

~~Looks like we are going to go up to Jacob’s aunt’s house in the Santa Cruz Mountains this weekend.  She called him this morning and asked if we could come up there to help pack some things up for her gf.  I guess she is moving up to the house by Redding.  Hopefully it will be really nice this weekend, because I want to go to the BEACH and go boogie boarding.  YAH BABY!~~

Okay… I’m done with the list now and the massively HUGE entry.  I’ll try and post some pictures later of protestors.  LOL

I don’t like Cindy Sheehan, either. I bet her son is rolling over in her grave. He died with honor. For his country. And she won’t shut the hell up. I want to meet the president. And yay for telling your boss off! LOL.
