hey, what’s happenin?

i painted the above picture when i was in college. it was for a painting 101 class or something like that. it measures approximately four feet long and three feet wide, i think. i’d measure it to be sure, but i can’t find the tape measure. i’m not going to explain it, i don’t believe that the artist should explain the art they create, if they have to explain it then it has failed. i’ll let you, my readers, if there are any, decide what it means.

i finally hung the painting on a wall. its only taken me 17 years to do it. i know its not the best painting in the world, but i like it. i’m proud of it. when it was on display in the art show at the school i was attending at the time, i actually had someone offer to buy from me. i turned them down, obviously.

i got an early birthday present today. a new stereo. its exactly what i’ve been looking for: it has two tape decks, cd player, a radio, and a iPod dock. i listen to the radio a lot and i have the other three forms of music. it doesn’t have a record player on it, that’s okay, i have a record player and yes, i do have some vinyl that i listen to from time to time.

we are, at present, encased in ice. we didn’t get the big snow they got up in chicago, but we got a humdinger of an ice storm. the uinversity i work at has been closed for two days. they’ll be closed most of the day tomorrow, but will open in the afternoon tomorrow, so, luckily,i’ll be able to get some work in. my position is such that if i don’t work i don’t get paid. that’s not cool. but, like i said, it was nice having a couple days off. i got some stuff done around the house that i’ve been meaning to get done.

i did go out with guns a week ago this past monday. i haven’t heard from her since. doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out, right?
