hello. i’m still kickin

i am watching Gettysburg on the history channel right now.  its interesting to see how director ridley scott, who is well known for big, balls to the wall action flicks.  its kind of what you’d expect from a big budget movie director.  if there is one battle that i’ve spent a lot of time with it it is gettysburg.  i’ve spent many hours at the battlefield and read lots of different accounts.  its good, i suppose, but its not great.  quick edits, sudden cuts, nifty computer graphics.  but it is the start of civil war week on history channel and i’m all about the civil war.  so i will watch.  its better than shark week, right?

i wish i had good news about the job front, i don’t.  i’m still at the archives, and still at the bookstore, but i don’t have much else.  i’m getting worried.  i had an interview for a very interesting position.  admission counselor for the school attached to my church.  its a part time gig, but it is truly a interesting opportunity.  it seems like it is more of a marketing type job than anything else

this morning, after i got up i cleaned up and straightened up the shed and then mowed the lawn.  then i started to get my bills in order, made myself sit down and work on my bankbook so i can see exactly what i have and i don’t have.  i don’t have much.

it was a beautiful day today.  gorgeous, actually.  i don’ think it could of been any better.  for the most part it was in the 70’s as the day got on it got hotter, but the humidity was low so twasn’t that bad.  it was nice for another reason… no rain, no clouds, and no red splotches on the radar.  in short, it was a day that i needed.

Hush your mouth, it’s not better than Shark Week. Sharks = awesome. That could be a cool gig, though, huh? And every little bit of experience helps. I shall think happy thoughts for you.
