and so we start the 10th year

and so we begin 2011.   2010 ended on a fairly good note, which is nice, considering how unpleasant it had been for the last few months.  i have gotten more hours at the library, this is a good thing.  i will be working in the archives department, this will allow me to get more experience in a different facet of librarianship, also, it will give me 800 bucks (before taxes) more a month.  i haven’t heard whether my current position at the reference desk will be extended again, i hope it will, but i don’t know for sure.  i will continue to look for a full time job.  that line is getting older and older.  so getting more hours is a good thing.

another note: guns and i went out for coffee.  just coffee, to a starbucks.  it was nice.  she was very tired.  we just talked and caught up.  so, yes, guns is still in my life, maybe more on the periphery right now, but she’s there.  we also talked on the phone for a few minutes on new years day.

new years eve was quite.  matter of fact, it was almost boring.  i stayed at home, watched the ball go down and pretty much went to bed.

so what will 2011 bring?  i haven’t the foggiest.  and as a matter of fact, i’m a tad frightened about what may or may not happen this year.  2010 was such an up and down year.  i will endevour to write more here, but i can make no promises.  i can say this for sure: 2011 is the tenth anniversary of the "zoo" opening up.  ten years… wow.

Archives! I took a class in archives as part of my history undergrad…. Totally different emphasis on organizing. I sort of liked it, but not enough to stray from librarianship. Did you know, that to test for a certain type of film, it is accepted practice to cut a small piece off, take it into the parking lot, and set it on fire? I read that in my text book and my professor assured meit was true….

I think the archives would be awesome. Definitely will have some peace and quiet there. =)
