Yesterday, hey nineteen
I bought a CD yesterday for the first time in a while. It’s Rush’s "Spirit of Radio". Listening to the old familiary songs I realized that 3 or 4 of my favorites were about integretiy even if I can’t spell the word. The last song is one called "Time Stand Still". I first heard it when I was finally getting to know someone as an adult that I had not seen in a long time. There were moments when I truly wanted time to stand still. I have one of those moments every now and then with Natalie. She’s approaching 13. Gone is the little girl who loved for her dad to come to school and have lunch with her. She is changing fast again and slipping away so fast and she doesn’t understand how I feel and probably thinks her dad is getting weird with his talk about her growing up too fast. She’s just going to have to live with it.
I find it so ironic that I now seem to have more in common with a woman from a foreign country at work that the people I work with the most.
Another class in DC next week. I’m sure I’ll have more time to write then.
I love AZ. we’re staying in Phoenix, it’s beautiful but I’m getting burnt! boo
