15

My oldest daughter turned 15 a few months ago. I sent her the lyrics to 100 years via facebook. I also told her that she doesn’t have the baggage I had at 15. I also told her I want to see her soar like an eagle. And to have fun. We only get to be 15 for a year but we get to be old for many years many times. She has a new boyfriend. It’s a relatively new experience for us and her.  He seems like a good kid so far.  I worry a little bit that she may be like me and try to fix broken wings but it’s too soon to tell.  And it’s pretty cool to see them repaired and watch them take flight.  The risk is there always though.  I feel like I’ve been through the ringer and come out alive.  Some scars, but alive and kicking.  Still scared, still scared at times, but ready to face tomorrow.  What a wonderful age 15 can be.  I hope it is for her.
