Good Day Ahead

Today should be a pretty good day. We’re traveling to Milwaukee this morning and are going to head to Summerfest this afternoon with the boys. It’s going to be their first time going, and they are very excited. M and I haven’t been there in several years, due to the busyness of summer, conflicting schedules, and COVID.
We got A a pair of headphones, because we’re not sure how he’ll handle the INCREDIBLY loud music. He’s been just wearing them around the house since they came in the mail on Monday, so I think he’ll do fine. We will probably only spend a couple of afternoon hours there, because I know that they aren’t ready for any of the late-night craziness yet.
It’s likely to be an expensive day, for such a relatively short trip, but I think that it will be worth it. M is the most excited about all of the various food options, and said that she’s not going to eat lunch so that she can hold out for the plethora of options down at the Summerfest grounds.
I don’t know what I’m the most excited for. The music is always excellent, but most of the afternoon bands are somewhat… lackluster. But who knows? Maybe one of them will absolutely wow me. The food is always great, and I’m sure that I’ll have some good stuff (probably heavily deep-fried) throughout the afternoon.

But I think that I’m the most excited to just experience the event with the kids. They have several kids-themed content, like a magician, a puppet show, kids bands, an obstacle course, etc. The boys are going to be in sensory overload.
