done yesterday, and more done today
Guess what I got done yesterday? I got it all done! I painted the kitchen, everything but the wall without cabinets. Got all of the outlet covers screwed back on. The painters tape off the cabinets. Washed down all of the countertops, and put everything back in its place. The paint was a little lighter than the original color, but worked out fine.
I went to the gas station and filled the gas can for the mower. (Something I thought I had asked the nephew to do before he left.) Mowed the front yard, mulching all of the leaves from my little tree. Mowed the backyard while the dogs stood on the bench barking at a squirrel. Raked the few leaves the lawn mower couldn’t get to.
Took my library books back
And as I headed back home from the grocery store the rain started. Very productive day in my book!
The hubby came home just beat last night. I told him I think I would be too if I carried that much mud around on my boots all day. These things have to have and inch of goo on the bottom. He said there just isn’t one dry spot on the whole job. If he is the boss, and has this much mud on him, what do the rest of the workers look like? My son included, glad I am not doing his laundry.
On my walk today I passed a house that is having some repairs done to it. The workers have been there for a week or so. But the music they listen to is the old stuff I listened to in high school. Van Halen, ZZ Top, AC/DC, they are always rocking out when I walk by. I thought about how songs always remind you of a time or place. Cheap Tricks, I Want You To Want Me, always reminds me of the little lake we used to go to in high school. The sun was hot, I was trying to be, us girls were out to impress the boys from the next town over. It made me think of the songs I would like to download on my ipod. Have to ask the hubby tonight, what reminder songs he would like to hear.
During the hubbys phone call this morning he was asking me, what exciting had happened this morning. I told him, just talking to him was the most exciting thing that happened so far. He liked that answer, and said I deserved a present for that. What, I asked How about a dog (I have been oohing and ahhing over terri’s little addition) Nah I don’t want another dog. Him: How about a horse? Me: Where would we keep it. Him: on a farm far away from here Me: I don’t want a horse if I can’t see it everyday Him: how about a new car? Me: Nah I like my mustang Him: I would buy you anything you asked for Me: how about a turkey platter, remember mine got cracked last year He hung up on me!
The list of things to do is going well. Got the garage swept out, and wood hauled in. Changed the lite bulbs on the front of the house. Next is ironing my kitchen curtains to put back up. They have been down since we redid the cupboards. Now I need to find the curtain brackets. I am sure they are in the same palce as my paint chip!
“The sun was hot, I was trying to be…” My favorite part 🙂

I still listen to all those you listed while I work out, and while I chill out….always have, and Denise is wrapped up in every one of them in some way or another. We’ve spent a lot of time together, and much of it with a radio going………great memories. Thanks for sparking them tonight….

Music sparks so much great nostalgia. Jack and I sat the other night and played through a whole load of eighties tracks that reminded us of times in our lives. It transports you to a completely different place in space and time. I hope you get your turkey platter!!
