The Week I Fell in Love

You wait and you look for and you think about something perfect. You refuse to settle. Your expectations are high, and you know exactly what you want.

Then one day you fall in love, and it’s something completely different. It’s not perfect like you pictured, but there’s something so great and so scary about it. It’s so much better than what you had in your head.

He wants to be on the same page, and I want that too, so we keep each other there. And it’s scary because it’s emotional, and I’m not necessarily up for that right now. Maybe love is like moving overseas or having a baby – there’s never a convenient time for it, but you just do it, because it’s great and you’re missing out if you don’t.

Maybe this perfect thing I’ve been looking for isn’t love – it’s just an image – a look, a job, a lifestyle.

So maybe I’m in love. Now what do we do?

We.

Be honest. Let go of your expectations. Move on. Keep moving forward always.
