Need more time? Or perhaps an attitude adjustment?
I think that ‘too busy’ is simply an attitude. Constantly being busy, or not having enough time to fit everything in is, once again, more to do with attitude than how much you actually have to do.
I say this because I am the one who determines what ‘has to be done’ – what is important enough to rush over. I’m the one who prioritises this and that over relaxation, and says that I ‘can’t fit in any relaxation time’.
If that’s my opinion, then why am I the one who is always in a rush? Rushing, and not having enough time are generally considered bad things. If it is all about attitude, and identifying the problem is the first step in solving it, then why have I not been able to move on to Step 2: Calming the F-ck Down?
Wouldn’t it be interesting if my constant rushing – filling up my time with way too many ‘important’ tasks was a way of avoiding something. If that were the case, I wonder what that something would be…
In other news…
My parents are getting separated. My dad has another child overseas and I’m the only one who knows. Disturbing stuff. I’m so glad that they’re getting separated. With the knowledge of my dad’s other family, their decision to be apart is like a weight lifted from my shoulders. I feel that this is a step forward, when for so many years my family seemed to be at a standstill.
Nobody else is as happy as I am about the decision. I hope I’m seeing clearly regarding how positive this decision is for everyone involved.
thank you for your note on my entry :)) I wanted to remind others to be cautious and safe because it can happen to anyone.
