Good Morning!

My boss is in a meeting for the next hour and has given me a project to work on that I am pretty damn lost on, so I thought I would take a minute and update for a bit.

How was your weekend? Pretty nice here except for a tummy episode Friday night. Pissed me OFF! I had planned to take our friends to one of our fav Italian restaurants so I could try a very PLAIN pasta dish – cheese ravioli – to see how my stomach could handle it. I was pretty hungry when we got there, which was a good sign and for good measure, I scrapped off every bit of tomato sauce, just in case that might not sit well with me.

Well – the pasta didn’t either. By the time dinner was over, my tummy was rumbling and after we left there and went to Barnes and Noble to browse, I had to use the bathroom twice there. It wasn’t bad – I didn’t feel that bad, it was just embarrassing. We were going to get some coffee and sit and talk but #1, my stomach definitely would not have been able to handle coffee and #2, they were having some giant book opening party – some teen vampire series and the newest in the series came out at midnight. There were teenage girls (and older women) EVERYWHERE decked out in black and red and some people came in full formals with their hair done and tiaras, the whole nine yards. Creeped me out so much I just wanted to get the heck outta there!

So, we went home and had a nice time sitting in our living room and talking until midnight, even if I couldn’t enjoy my normal nightcap of a glass of wine like everyone else.

Saturday, my stomach was still protesting but I was able to eat breakfast but by lunch, I just had a half turkey sandwich, a graham cracker and some Kisses and within 5 minutes, I was in the bathroom. And it was bad. It only happened 1 time but I was so disappointed. WHY????? Why does this keep happening to me?

I refused to let it ruin my day, my weekend – we had some fun plans and I was not going to miss it. We left around 3:30 to head up to St. Joe, Michigan and Silver Beach for the afternoon and it was wonderful. We bought some beach chairs at Meijer on the way and copped a squat not too far from the water’s edge with our little cooler and beach umbrella and just read for an hour or two. We both tried to get in the water but that breeze was just too damn cool so I was a little disappointed about that. Maybe next time.

Finally, we packed up around 6:30 or so and walked up to the downtown to find some dinner. Of course, I didn’t feel like eating anything but didn’t want to ruin Brian’s time so we finally settled on a little Greek place on the main drag. It was packed that day – there was some triathalon in town so the place with teaming with athletes and their families. Brian really enjoyed his falafel and I got some hummus and pita bread, which I handled just fine. Then, we went to Kilwin’s for some ice cream – I just got plain vanilla – and man! Did my stomach feel better after that! Who would have thought?

We wanted to stay and watch the sunset but it was at least another hour so we decided to just head for home and spend the rest of our evening on our pack patio, sitting next to a roaring fire in our firepit.

Sunday – I had the day planned down to the minute. It was like a perfectly choreographed ballet! The morning – I had a good breakfast and then worked on laundry and the house. I met my aunt at noon to see Mamma Mia and then after the movie, I headed to Lynne’s house to hang out with her family for a little while. We had quite the scare on Saturday morning – her husband was hit by a car on his motorcycle! He was on the way to a Habitat build with his church, was going through a stoplight in their downtown and a young 20 year old guy ran the stop light and hit him, throwing him off the bike onto the ground. He is so lucky – nothing at all is wrong with him, nothing broken, he had a helmet on which literally saved his head so aside from some road rash on his back and being stiff and sore all over, he was fine. He has, however, decided to sell the motorcycle, after having it a little less than a month. It is a shame really but no matter how careful a rider you are, you just have no control over how other people are going to drive and after losing his first wife in a car accident, he just can’t put Lynne through that extra worry.

The movie was OK – I liked it, I really did but parts of it were insanely cheesy, Meryl Streep cannot dance, Pierce Bronson cannot sing but the location was gorgeous and the lead young girl had a beautiful voice and was fun to watch. I had a nice time at Lynne’s too – but every time I visit with them, they just wear me out so quickly! I was only there 2 hours but by the time I left, I felt like it had been 10!

Nothing much planned this week, which is nice. Just trying to keep from losing anymore weight and seeing what I can keep in me without upsetting my stomach. I was shocked to put on my dress pants for work this morning and a pair that fit fine just 2 weeks ago is now hanging off my hips. I searched high and low for my belt but running late, I just had to settle for hiking them up every time I walk somewhere. My aunt even commented yesterday after the movie that I have lost a TON of weight in my face and she agreed it looked like TOO much weight, that it made me look sickly. I have become increasingly aware of my teeth too – my face is so much smaller, my teeth just look insanely big in my head to me, for some reason. *sigh* Everyone would like to lose weight but certainly not THIS way!

It could be the purging and diet restriction? It’ll be a matter of time before you put it back I think.
