Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland (w/ pics)
So it is New Year’s Eve, and we are still stuck in our house. We haven’t been able to go out and do anything since Wednesday night, really. It is kind of disappointing to be stuck at home tonight for New Year’s Eve when we weren’t planning on it, so I don’t really have many goodies in the house to snack on tonight or anything, but we’ll make the most of it! It will definitely be a quiet ringing in of the new year for us.
The past few days have been spent shoveling the driveway numerous times (6 times to be exact) just to keep up with the snow. We thought we were pretty much done last night, and then woke up this morning to a 3-foot snow drift on our driveway. So, we set out shoveling again! Three hours later, we had the driveway cleared (and we only have a single car garage, so the driveway isn’t THAT big). It has been exhausting, but I at least got my exercise! The snow is beautiful, it really is, but I am about ready for it to be done to the point that we can get out in the car and go somewhere. I love being at home and having time off work, but I also like to be able to get out of the house and do things. Hopefully we can get out of the house tomorrow — we’ll see!
I didn’t think I could go without sharing some Winter Wonderland photos with all of you. That way, if any of you have had to spend the holidays without a white covering on the ground, I will have shared my snow with you! Enjoy…
These first pictures were taken last night (Saturday). Our neighbors car was parked up next to their house, and as you can see, it was pretty much buried.
The other pictures from last night didn’t turn out that well, so I took some more today in the daylight to share with you all. You may want to make note of the fact that all you can see of our nativity set that sits out in front of our house for Christmas is the star at the top of it. That nativity set stands about 3 1/2 feet high, so just to give you a frame of reference to tell how deep the snow really is. (Sorry if these are a little big – I got tired of sizing them down.)
This is what we saw this morning when we opened the garage door…
So…from our house to yours, we wish you a very happy and bright New Year! May God be with you all and bless you in the upcoming year!

LOTS of snow you have! I’m used to the whole white Christmas thing and I miss it dearly, so it was nice to see these! Hope you have a great New Year! Ashley
