The Finishing Touches

Thursday night I presented my Graduate portfolio to a team of professors at WSU, and I think it went really well!!  That was such a huge relief.  I had really psyched myself out for doing that, probably because I felt like so much was riding on a little 20 minute presentation.  Then I have spent hours today finishing up some other things to email to my professor and get put in the mail to her.  Hopefully within the next day or two everything will be submitted, and I will truly be DONE with my Master’s.  Yay!!  There were many times that I thought this day would never come.  Now it’s here!

My students have been so incredibly sweet through all of this.  It has become very obvious in the last few weeks that this bunch was definitely a gift from God to help me make it through this final year of graduate school while teaching.  They were very concerned about what I have going on for school, and they’re so excited about me graduating.  They knew I was presenting last Thursday night, and I told them we could party on Friday if all went well.  I did tell them, though, that their part of the deal was that they needed to think of me at 5:00 Thursday evening.  They all showed up Friday morning really concerned how it went, one little boy comes in and says "I told my mom that you had your thing last night, so she sat down and was praying for you," and I had a girl go out and buy me a musical card that played "Celebration."  They were the cutest things, and they meant so much to me!  I am very blessed!

To celebrate being done and having stress taken off of me, I am taking a personal day Monday.  My mom and I are going to head to Colorado Springs tomorrow to do some clothes and baby shopping and to just get away!  I am so excited.  We’ll probably shop tomorrow afternoon and then relax a bit at the hotel tomorrow night before heading out again Monday for a full day of shopping before heading home.  I hope to find some decorations for my graduation party as well as some gifts to give my kids at the end of the school year.  I am in full laundry gear today so that things are done before I leave.  It’ll feel so good to drive out of here tomorrow!

I had my 18-week checkup yesterday, and it went really well.  I’m measuring pretty close to right on, and he didn’t see any concerns.  We got to hear the heart beat again, which is always so cool!  He’ll schedule my next sonogram at my 22-week appointment, so that’s something to definitely look forward to.  I can’t believe I’ve almost made it half of the way through!  As my little baby bump grows, the reality keeps building.  It’s such an awesome feeling!

Well, I better get back to doing some work.  Trent has family in town.  He’s already over at his grandma’s with them, and I plan to join him here shortly.  That means I better finish up laundry, pay some bills, and put together some documents to mail.  Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
