The end is in sight!

My semester is finally starting to come to an end.  I’m not sure if it was just me struggling to get back into the swing of things or if it’s just the Master’s program that I chose, but this semester really had me frazzled.  There were numerous days that all I could do when I got home from work and realized I needed to sit down to hours of homework, and I would just cry.  It’s frustrating to feel that stressed and overwhelmed!  Things have gotten better here at the end of the semeter, so I’m hoping that the first-type stress was all of the groundwork they had to make us do on assignments just here at the beginning of the Master’s program.  I sure hope so!  I have another 6 hours next semester, and then I’ll only have one more year to go!  I have to keep teling myself that…

Things to finish for this semester:
-Action Research paper (emailed it to my professor a week ago for her to look over; waiting for her to send back)
-Presentation over my research paper (again, waiting for some questions to be answered to finish it up)
-Create a brochure about my project

So it really boils down to hearing back about my paper and having a few questions asked, and then I can wrap it all up!  I might have to go out and celebrate once it’s all submitted for the semester!  hehe

Next weekend, we are headed to Kansas City with Trent’s parents to visit his sister, her boyfriend, and our nephew.  His sister is going to San Francisco for two weeks at Christmas time, so we must go celebrate Christmas with her next weekend if we want to see them for the holidays.  I put in for a 1/2 day personal leave so we can get out of town earlier, but I’m not sure if it’ll be approved.  We’ve had so many sick teachers lately that they haven’t had enough subs.  I guess it’ll all depend on if they can get a sub for me.

We finally got a picture taken together the other night so that I could send it to Wal-Mart and have Christmas cards made.  I’ll have to get the pictures uploaded so I can put one on here.  It’s nice to have the pictures done.  Now I just have to type up a letter and get them all mailed out!  I love hearing from people during the holidays, so I always send out our own pictures and letters.  It’s just one of the things I love about this season!

I pretty much have my Christmas shopping done.  I do have a few more items to get, but now I just need to get it all wrapped!  Our spare bedroom is a mess right now because I have all the gifts laying out in there and sorted so that I knew who I still needed to buy for.  I begin shopping early, so sometimes I forget what all I have!  hehe

I best get going. I need to do  my hair so that I can get on the road.  I am headed out of town today to go to a baby shower for one of the girls I went to high school with.  My mom is going along to finish up some Christmas shopping, so we’ll make a day of it!  It’ll be nice to be away from the house and schoolwork for a day.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

I know the excitement of ‘almost being done’ with your classes for the semester, congrats on that! We have our pictures done, I just need to get on shutterfly.com and order them. Our letter, too is typed up and ready to go. My mom makes fun of me for writing one but, like you, I enjoy hearing from others during the holiday season. Have a relaxing weekend (as much as possible)! n

It’s great that everything school wise is wrapping down for a few weeks. You definitely need to celebrate the fact that you survived! I hope you have a fabulous time at the shower and at Kansas City. Ashley
