Making the Time

I have had good intentions of sitting down and writing an entry for what seems like weeks now, but I guess I haven’t been very good about actually seeing that it happens.  So, here I am, trying to take a break from laundry and housework to sit down for a few minutes and have some diary time!

We had a wonderful Easter!  Saturday night we had supper with my whole family as well as Trent’s parents and grandma.  It was so fun to be with the niece and nephew and Hannah this year.  The Easter Bunny was good to Hannah, and she got some cute clothes and a fun toy out of the deal!  Holidays have a whole new meaning with the little one around.  She was adorable in her Easter dress, of course, and it was so fun to do the little girly dress up thing!

I took the day off Monday and got caught up on some sleep and was a couch potato.  I told myself that I deserved that because I hadn’t had the house to myself at all since Hannah was born.  It was kind of weird and quiet, but I did enjoy the time.  The day of course went by quickly, but I loved it!  Tuesday we had a doctor’s appointment with Hannah for her six month shots.  She weighs 15 lb. 12oz. and is 26 inches long now.  It is so hard to believe how much she has grown!!  We did her shots, which didn’t go as well as the other sets have gone.  She was up all night Tuesday night and then ran a temp. all day Wednesday.  I stayed at home with her, and pretty much rocked her most of the day.  There have been a lot of kids sick at daycare, too, so we aren’t sure if it was the shots or if she caught a virus.  She still has a 99 degree temp. every once in a while and has slept a lot of the day today.  I’m hoping that she can kick this soon and get back to herself soon.  The poor kids at daycare seem to have a lingering tiredness as well, so I’m thinking she picked up something that they had there.  We’ve been fortunate, though, and she has been a very healthy baby so far.  I’m glad she’s getting extra rest today because I think that’ll help her get to feeling better soon!

My niece has her First Communion tomorrow, so we’re headed to their house bright and early in the morning to make it to her celebration.  I’m so excited to see family again and get to spend some time together.  One of Trent’s good friends is headed to our house this evening to stay tonight and then tomorrow.  I really enjoy getting to spend time with Mike, and we don’t get to see him that often.  I’m sure it’ll be fun.  His girlfriend has a bachelorette party tonight for her sister, so he decided to get out of town and come see us!  That means I have to get off here in a few minutes and start thinking about getting supper started.  I am going to make chicken fried steak, so I’m going to pull out the whole domestic card tonight!  That doesn’t seem to happen very often around here anymore…  🙂

I do take the time to get caught up on everyone else’s diaries, but I’m not always the best about my own entries or leaving notes.  I always enjoy reading what you all have been up to and what’s going on in your lives.  I hope that you are all having a great weekend!  The best news for me is that there are now only five more weeks of school left before summer break.  Then I get to be a full-time mommy — yay!!!

I understand on being busy! I’m glad that Hannah and your family are doing great. I knew you would fit the mommy role just perfectly. And it’s wonderful that in a couple weeks you can be a full-time mommy for awhile! Ashley

Isn’t the prospect of summer break a WONDERFUL thing? I can’t wait to get to spend the time with Andrew (though I will be teaching summer school for 3 weeks). I know what you mean about “making the time.” I haven’t had a chance to get on here and read in several days. And writing an entry? I wanted to, but now I have to get in the shower 🙁 I can’t believe Hannah’s already 6 months old!Andrew will be 5 months on Wednesday. Isn’t it amazing how time just passes us by? She sounds like a healthy beautiful little girl. I can’t want to see how Andrew’s doing weight-wise. I just started weaning him on to formula and he’s taking rice cereal once a day so I think he’s starting to chunk up a little 😛 So cute!
