I am still here!

I really have been around the last month, but just long enough to stay updated on other people and not necessarily updating about myself.  Things have been very hectic, which is normal at this time of the year.  We have been out of town every weekend it seems since Easter, so that’s made it interesting to get or stay caught up around here.  I did manage to do some cleaning around the house finally, so I’m proud of myself for that!

Grad Classes

I am only three weeks away from walking across that stage and being hooded with my Master’s degree!  I cannot even put into words how excited I am to be completely done and to have that degree in my hand.  I have worked very hard the past two years to maintain my home life while going back to get this Master’s.  As I was working on my portfolio and writing my final reflection, I couldn’t help but sit and let the tears roll down my cheeks.  To think of the struggle it has been at times to push forward and continue this until I’m done is quite the emotional roller coaster.  I have my cap, gown, and hood and we’re all set up to head to Wichita for the weekend along with the family for the big occasion.  I am so excited as the time grows near!

I defend my portfolio this Thursday night, so put me on my prayer calendars for the week!   I am nervous about presenting, but it’ll be such a huge relief when it’s all done.  I’ll be able to walk away Thursday night and know that my part is finished.

School

As always, school this time of the year gets really busy with field trips and testing and wrapping things up for the school year.  I have made the decision to move down to second grade next year.  While it is exciting, I am worried once again about getting all of my things moved and then situated again in a new room.  I am scared to leave my comfort zone, but I think second grade is where I need to be right now.  I will avoid some of the stresses I have now while also getting to work with two of the greatest teachers in our district.  That will be nice!

Baby

We have made it into our 17th week!  With each week that goes by, I feel better and better about how far we have come.  I have another doctor’s appointment this upcoming Friday, so I’m excited to get to hear the heart beat once again.  I haven’t felt any movement yet, but they say that’s not uncommon at this stage.   I am definitely growing as my clothes no longer fit and I have had to move up sizes or even look at the good ‘ole banded pants!  I am so excited to get into the summer when I can go through the house and get things cleaned out and ready for a new arrival.  We have looked at baby furniture, and it’ll be nice to buy some and get our guest room cleaned out and turned into the nursery.  That’ll keep me occupied this summer!    I am feeling great and thank God every day for blessing us with this miracle growing inside of me.

—————————-

Well, I need to get to school to work on some things today.  Being gone each weekend has caused me to leave things unfinished around the room, and it’s starting to drive me crazy!  I am going to go work and get ahead so that I feel a little better.  I hope you all have had a great weekend!

Glad to hear that all is well. I have been thinking of you and hoping that things were good with the baby and such. Are you going to find out the sex or are you going to wait and be surprised? Congratulations (early) on your upcoming graduation! That’s an awesome accomplishment and you should be very proud of yourself. 🙂

Yay, I’m so happy for you. I hear 2nd grade is the best grade to teach.
