–       Walt Disney World

Our family took a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida where we spent a week taking in the sights.  Hannah was in awe at the rides and the characters, but she soon became accustomed and was such a trooper!  Her favorite ride seemed to the Mad Party Tea Cups, and she still talks a lot about Mickey and Pluto as well as “Chop and Don” (aka Chip and Dale).  We have looked back at the pictures hundreds of times, and she is just as excited each time she sees them!  It was a wonderful way to start off our summer, and Hannah really did ver

y well for the great travel distance as well as long hours we had each day.  We look forward to many more of these trips in the future!

–       Rose Reunion
Many of the extended Rose’s in the family had never met Hannah before since she wasn’t born yet two years ago at the last reunion.  It was great to see everyone again, and Hannah really enjoyed playing with her cousins!

July

–       4th of July / Ryan’s Birthday
Our nephew Ryan turned 4 on the 10th of July, so we celebrated with them for the 4th.  Hannah wasn’t quite sure what to think about the fireworks and she was definitely unsure of the ones with loud booms, but she did get better as the night went on and watched them.

–       Colorado Springs
We escaped for a weekend to the Colorado Springs / Manitou Springs area with Papa and Mimi, and Hannah was thrilled to see the mountains again!  She loved the rides and the arcade in Manitou Springs, and then we went to The North Pole.  Brenda had not been to the North Pole since she was little, so it was neat to see it again as an adult and then see the excitement in Hannah’s eyes.  She loved the rides and keeps talking about “going round and round on Rudolph.”

–       After Harvest Fest
Hannah was able to attend Grinnell’s After Harvest Fest this year where she was introduced to the Greased Pig Contest.  Hannah loves all animals . . . at a distance!  So she really did very well to get into the pen and actually get somewhat near them; however, once one of the workers tried to get her to touch one, she was having nothing to do with that.  It ended with some tears, but she did continue to talk about chasing pigs and wanted to keep going back and trying again the next day!  Maybe in a few year she’ll actually be the one dragging one to the bucket!

–       Grand Junction
We traveled with Trent’s family to Grand Junction for a weekend getaway and to celebrate Trent’s Uncle Bill’s 60th birthday.  We were so glad to be there to be a part of Bill’s birthday party, and it was fantastic to see some family again.  We were unable to make the Junior College World Series of baseball this year, so it was nice to still get to travel through the mountains this summer.  What beautiful scenery!

–       Trent’s 30th Birthday
We surprised Trent with a 30th birthday party where we “brought back the 80’s.”  What fun we had with the totally awesome trends of the time.

–       Kansas City
We spent almost a week in Kansas City celebrating the birthdays of Naomi’s little ones, Nora and Trey.  We also were able to take in a Kansas City Royals game while there, and Hannah loved the time spent playing with her cousins!  We also visited some friends of ours and spent some time with their boys.  We went to the Deanna Rose Farmstead where the kids got to see some different animals.<span

style=””>  It was hot, but we braved the weather!

It has been a fabulous summer!  We have been busy, but it has been well worth it.  We have had a lot of time

with family and friends, and for that we feel truly blessed.  It has been such a joy to watch Hannah day in and

day out grow and change.  It’ll be very hard to head back to work next Monday and to send her back to

daycare; however, she is very ready and excited to see her friends again.  We are going to enjoy these next few

days together.  Thanks for being patient this summer as I have been MIA.  As I said, I’ve been reading others

and keeping updated but just have been horrible about writing!  Hopefully that’ll change as I get back into the

school routine.  Love to all!

Did the Royals actually win that game? I guess if nothing else you could at least enjoy the “New K” stadium. Royals have always had a real cool stadium, even if they unfortunately always disappoint me.

Beautiful, beautiful family! And Hannah is growing up insanely quick. I swear the last time I saw a photo was when she was a baby. She’s now an adorable little girl! I’m sure this summer was amazing to experience with her as she’s grown. Ashley
