A More Relaxing Week

At least I hope that this week is a bit more relaxing than the last.  Last week I had parent / teacher conferences until 8:00 both Tuesday and Thursday after teaching all day, so that is always exhausting.  It was really hard for me to be away from my baby that long, but Trent got in some quality dad time.  I actually do love conferences; it’s always so nice to touch base with all of the parents and it serves as a reminder to me just how special each student is.  If only I was able to take the time to sit back and remember that more often.  There are so many other things I want to do as a teacher to better serve my students, but I have had to push a few of those things to the side as I’ve taken on the role of being a mommy.  That has been difficult at times, but hopefully I’ll get the hang of it and fit more into my 24 hour day as I become accustomed to all of these roles put together.

I am pretty excited that this weekend we get to head across the state to Wichita for a wedding.  One of Trent’s high school classmates is getting married, so we’re going for the weekend.  It’ll be so nice to get away and be able to do some shopping and things for Valentine’s Day.  Hannah has become such a good little traveler, so she’s really enjoyable to take along!  I’m sure she’ll love the wedding, as she’ll have so many things and people to watch.  She’ll be exhausted at the end of the weekend, but it’s always so neat to watch her as she experiences other "firsts" in her life.  This will be her first wedding!

Speaking of the little bundle of joy, she is now four months old!  Wow, has the time has flown!  She grows and changes on a daily basis, and she is just so amazing to watch.  I love to watch her discover new things and try to figure out how her hands and legs and everything work together.  She’s finally decided that she likes the rolling over business, so I’m sure it’ll only be a matter of time before she’s zipping across our floor and getting into everything!  Her personality has developed into quite the fun-loving adventurous type as she loves to see what all is going on around her!  We go back to the doctor on Wednesday, and I’m interested to see how much she weighs and how long she is now.

There hasn’t been much else happening in our lives.  Hannah has become our life, and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.  There are days that I am extremely tired, but it’s all worth it when she smiles or wants to cuddle.

I hope that you all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day being able to spend time with loved ones!
