Newsies

OMG… I bought a car yesterday! And we joined the gym on Sunday! AND there is a new gay bar in Atown. LMAO…

Reverse order — to follow in the excitement factor.

Yesterday I bought a Red Mazda 3 i Touring… I pick it up today…

They are doing away with the "cheshire grin" this year. Next year’s model will have a different look… 2014 is meaner looking, but that’s ok. I have wanted this smiley car since the day I saw it! And I finally got it! Saturday, we went to test drive some more cars. We spent like 2 hours at the Mazda dealer and Mich was trying to talk me into getting it on the spot!! I hasn’t done any research, but the price was amazing and they were doing 0% financing for 60 months. After test driving one other car and then thinking about it Sunday and half of Monday, I just went for it. I went in there last night, told him that I wanted him to come down another $500 off of the tent sale price (which was already more than $1K lower than the regular price) and they didn’t even argue with me. He called the mystery person on the phone, asked if I was purchasing today, hung up and shook my hand. I should have gone lower!!! Anyway, I’m thrilled and can’t wait to get my baby tomorrow. Her name will be Sherry! 🙂

So, after the two free weeks at the gym, we are hooked. Mich found a new program for me to follow. Its called LiveFit by Jamie Eason from the BodyBuilding.com website. I love it and feel great. I’m on my second rest day. I get one more and then its back to the gym on Thursday. But, I also found out that the gym has amazing yoga teachers and that is sending me back over and over again! Not to mention, I lost 7 pounds in the two weeks… so, this is good news… Basically this plan for now is all weight lifting, which I love. I’m happy with it!

Saturday night we met up with some friends for dinner at a restaurant that has recently gone through a rebranding. The same owners, but they renovated and turned half of the restaurant into a dance club… This past weekend was the opening weekend and they were having a drag show. So, the male wait staff were told they could dress in drag too if they wanted to… There are still straight people going to the place who don’t realize that its basically a gay bar now and its so funny watching their reactions! LOL Anyway… I don’t know how you could miss the fact that it is a gay place… the big balloon rainbow colored arch in front of the door or the rainbow flag, or maybe the enormous billboard announcing the drag show should have clued them in! LOL It was a great time. And the first time in over 4 years that Mich and I have been to a gay bar together. LOL So, it was a good night. We had dinner and drinks with our friends. They wanted to know all about our trip to NYC and they told us about theirs. They saw three broadway shows in one weekend. Their favorite was the one called Newsies. The story sounded fantastic!

Last piece of excitement is that I was asked by the Owner of EY to teach a segment this coming weekend to her trainees. She said the Sutras are her least favorite part and asked if I would teach them. She knows that this part of yoga is what I’m most passionate about. I said yes enthusiastically. Last night as I was looking through my YTT notebook, I remembered my teacher telling us that all this info would be so valuable to us in the future and that one day we may be teaching our own new teachers. I just laughed about it then, not believing a day would EVER come when that would happen… but Sunday the day is coming. I’ll be teaching yoga teacher trainees and maybe even some current teachers. I’m so excited about it!

Sherry is gorgeous! Who is that ‘mystery person’ anyway, right? Congrats on the weight loss – it’s so great you’ve found something to do for exercise that you’re enjoying – I really believe that is key. Sounds like things are going your way my friend and that makes me very happy. 🙂

Well, don’t let me fool you. The “school” part of the movie is just a 10-minute segment between 15 minutes of “young Kirk is a punk” and the rest of the movie which is space adventure aboard the Enterprise. Plus, ain’t you wondering how Old Spock got there?
