It all feels so right

I’m back from Miami and had my day to be a veg. I stayed in bed until my alarm went off this morning (9 a.m.) and before I could get out of bed, Shanti jumped up and laid down with me. She never does this, so I guess she missed me. I spent a little more time in bed petting her. Yesterday was a wash. I didn’t even get out of my PJs. It felt really good to just do nothing. They had us running non-stop on the trip. But, it was fun and I’m so glad that I was able to enjoy myself and BE myself and I’m even more happy to work where I work. Because I really like these people.

The office manager tends to be a little overpowering and I’ve found my ego really wanting to battle with hers, but I’m trying REALLY hard to just chill. Its one of those things where she kinda knows everything so she wants to be the one to talk about it before anyone else can. For instance, on this trip, one of our coworkers from our NY office didn’t know what yoga was. We were talking about it at dinner and I told them about my teaching background, etc., and instead of letting me tell the woman what yoga was, the Office Manager jumped in and overpowered me. Its just little things like that… But, what she says isn’t wrong or bad info, so I think its really more me wanting to make sure people know I’m smart enough. LOL So, I’m just letting it go and enjoying her boistrous personality. LOL Because seriously, she really is one of the funnier people that I’ve ever met.

The trip was something else though. The condo we stayed in was in a pretty rich area and the first night at the insistence of the owner, we walked down to a place called Carpaccio Restaurant. I don’t even want to know what the bill was after we were finished eating… but basically I saw a Lamborghini drive by us as we were sitting on the patio.

The second night we went to this fabulous bar & grill right on the water called Shuckers and had so much fun. When we first sat down, I had a breeze blowing in my face and I was looking out over the ocean and the sunset and the reggae music was playing, and I just felt so freaking HAPPY and I felt like I was in the exact right spot at the exact right time. I’ve been having a lot of those moments lately. And I’ve been getting those little signs from the universe… looking up at the clock every time it is 11:11 or 3:33. Its blissful really.

And so after we finally left the grill, we decided to take a ride down to South Beach just to do a drive-by viewing. That place is seriously crazy and looked like so much fun, but we weren’t prepared to stop and walk around so we went back to the condo. Both nights we were up until midnight. The first night the majority of the women were completely drunk. LOL But, they still wanted to do yoga in the morning. LOL So, after going to bed at 1 a.m. on Wednesday after traveling all day and drinking pretty heavily that night, four of us did 7 a.m. yoga. I taught of course and they enjoyed it and I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be.

I managed to catch my flight home on time after some crazy drama at the condo at the exact moment I needed to leave, but I got home in time to eat a nice dinner with Mich before we had to run out for a show. Oh, here’s another crazy thing… The company got me a car service to get me to and from the airport. The guy who drove me home is married to one of Mich’s coworkers and she’s a woman Mich really likes. What a small freaking world it is!

So, we headed out to drive 90 minutes to see Suzanne Westenhoefer last night with a friend of mine from yoga and her girlfriend. It was a really fun show and a perfect way to end a really fun week.

You know, maybe I’m still in the honeymoon phase of this new job, but I seriously feel like everything has fallen into place so nicely. I am just so happy with my life and my job and my family right now. Life really is good when you believe it can be!
