Finished the Bean Trees and it was pretty good. I liked it. I’m listening to Running with Scissors and holy hell is it funny. I’m totally entertained and I completely didn’t expect it. I didn’t even know what the book was about so it was a huge surprise.

Mich and I celebrated our 4th marriage anniversary on Friday. We went to a seafood place we’ve never been to before. It was a much tamer night than planned. We had big plans to go get our rings cleaned, then get a martini at one of fav spots, then off to get dinner at another, and then off to a third for desert. Needless to say, a Friday night made for a pretty quiet event.

Traditional gifts for 4th anniversaries are flowers or fruit. I got her a bouquet of flowers and brought home some campaign and a nice card. She brought me a card and flower shaped cookies. 🙂 I thought about doing a fruit fondue, but changed my mind. It was a nice night.

Saturday we took Rosie to her reunion at the rescue. It was awesome. A very long drive for her, but she is such a good car rider. She just lays there in the back and goes to sleep. We used to seat belt the boys into the car, but she never moves once she’s in. She doesn’t understand how to sit up and look out the window. Its very sad… a doggie who doesn’t know the joys of sticking their head out the window. Amos tried hard to teach her, but she’s not very surefooted and so feels better laying down on soft surfaces than standing.

Anyway, once we got there, she was just in love with all the dogs there. She gravitated to a few especially and had pretty much adopted one family with a dog named Vinny who she loved and another dog named Nitanny who she pretty much ignored. She also loved these two boys, Luke and Emeret. Emeret adopted Luke. Apparently, his parents had him boarded at the rescue when they went on vacation. When they came home, it turned out that Emeret and Luke were best buds… so they just brought Luke home too!!! How awesome is that!

She played some games too… and really liked the pumpkin pie eating contest although she didn’t win. I did win one of the silent auctions which was a photoshoot session. So, we’ll probably get a Christmas picture done with Rosie. If I can get us scheduled in time. It was god-awful hot that day. And so we stayed in the shade a lot and just hung out. I felt bad for the rescue that it was such a crappy day.

Sunday was finally a day to relax. After the gym, we had brunch with mimosas. I guess I had too much because before long I was asleep in the recliner and when I woke up I had a headache! LOL Monday I worked from home. I got a chance to run some errands, which included going to the Prison to fill out paperwork for the volunteer yoga class. Looks like, as long as I pass their screening process, I’ll be teaching a Monday night class to the minimum security women’s group.

Yeah, the prices were nuts. I was about to buy a thing of sushi, until i noticed that it contained a measley 8 bits of actual food, surrounded by decorative fluff packed into a deceptively large container. Bullcrap! I know, i’m uncool. My body — especially my head — just does not like fast motion or being turned upside-down. There’s a medical reason, i’m sure.

Happy 4th anniversary, The reunion thing is a lovely idea, we don’t do that over here in the UK. Please post a picture of your Christmas photo with Rosie 🙂 Wow congrats on the new post at the prison, I hope you have guards just in case? xx
