Cranky-ish

I always have such a hard time believing that young, liberal-minded, supposedly forward-thinking people still subscribe to the whole "men are from Mars, women are from Venus" thing. If you’re supposedly so liberal and open-minded, why can’t you realize that that sort of thing is JUST what society wants you to believe?

[Edit] Hopefully this doesn’t offend anyone. It just becomes tiring, always being told that my ideas are "radical" or that I’m "the exception". (I’m not an exception, I’m just me! I like power tools and trucks, I like muscles, I enjoy action movies and I don’t go around letting guys carry things for me.) Or, having people agree with what I say, only to turn right around and say something about how "men" are brutes and how "women" are super-nurturing and have some innate ability to care for children. I realize that societal conditioning is a damned hard thing to shake off, and I’ve learned to not be too hard on people if they have trouble with it, but it does get me once in awhile, when I’m bored and my mind starts to wander.

im like you love action films, do things for myself ect. Men aren’t brutes either it’s the individual not the gender. y’know what I mean? i wonder what was going through the mind of whoever came up with the men and women stereotypes. I mean I can be really ‘girly’ but then also really ‘boylike’ but that’s just my personality, yknow? This probably makes no sence..:/ xxx

I agree, there is nothing wrong with your attitude. I love being independent and married. I love working on cars, action movies and video games. My sil in having huge marriage problems right because her husband expects her to put sugar in his coffee for him and such- like she’s the maid. I believe completely in equal rights.

I take amitriptyline hcl. The doctor explained higher dosage is for depression but lower doseage like I have is for preventing migraine headaches.

Women are more than capable of doing all but 1% of what men can do and there are things that women are much better at than men. RYN: I think most women are natural exhibitionist’s.
