Trying to keep up.

So I think I’m one entry behind for NoJoMo. I’m not really keeping track this year as well as I should because I have so many other things going on. The idea of flight school is taking up a lot of my thinking time. I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to make it work to get my license as soon as possible because I am also thinking I want to move away from San Diego in a couple of years. I’ve decided I don’t want to stay in San Diego forever. It was nice to come down here and really learn who I could be as an individual, but it’s losing it’s charm rather quickly and I want to be someplace where I really really love the weather, but also someplace where I don’t really have a lifeline. Life lines are good and all, but I also feel like lifelines tend to be too much replied upon if you’re not careful.

In truth, the problem is that I want to be utterly on my own. I’ve never just had my own place. My own apartment. Moving north would allow me to do that. I’ve paid off my car, I’m getting a promotion to add skills to my resume, I work for a financial institution, and that can get me a job pretty much everywhere. And if I can leave San Diego with at least a multi-engine rating and a private pilot’s certificate under my belt, even better.

But I’ve never just lived by myself. I’ve always lived with parents or roommates and I really, really, really want to be the master of my own house (apartment is more like it) and not have to worry about anyone else living there. I want my own things, and I want to have my own furniture, and have my own dishes in the sink. I can’t afford that in San Diego, but I could in Oregon or Washington.

Onward!

I am waiting to hear back from Human Resources on whether or not I’m actually going to get a promotion. I would be sort of moving departments. I’d become an online specialist rather than being a teleservice specialist. Nice because it would be a LOT less call volume, and my pay grade would be two tiers higher. It’s in the same building though so I won’t have to change commutes or really anything else. It’s just a different set of skills, which includes wires, money orders, online banking management, and bill pay systems management. All things I am more or less familiar with having working as an actual teller with another credit union. I just need a refresher.

Hell yes. More money for flight school. I need to schedule my second class also. Can’t forget to do that.

I get to dress up and get all fancy for Andy’s James Bond themed birthday party tomorrow lol! That’s going to be fun! I really want to see Skyfall, which comes out the same day (Andy about had an orgasm when he found it released on his birthday. It was hilarious. He loves James Bond). I have to work that Saturday though so I can’t get too badly drunk. This is good.

I still get a two day weekend though because Vetrans Day is on Monday! Woo! I love working Saturday and still getting a two day weekend. It’s dangerous though because I tend to spend a lot more money on weekdays I have off than on weekends because I hate going to the mall on weekends.

Even worse because my friend Wayne has somehow talked me into reading comic books. Yes, of all the things I could have gotten into, Magic and comic books are eating up my disposable income like mad! It’s so easy to get carried away! I bought five comic books the last time I went to the comic book store! They were Star Wars comics, which is how I justified it, but still! I already need to think about getting a box for my new collection. I’ve started Marvel and X-Men and Marvel vs. X-men, X-23 (which I bought this last Tuesday, Cyber Force (A kickstarter that I got for free that was amazing), Deadpool, and Ironman (both of which had new issues released yesterday), and something else, but I can’t remember what.

It’s ridiculous how stupidly nerdy I went the first time a read a comic.

So that’s exciting.

I need to stop though.
