Promoted!

Yep, I got the job!

It’s a two dollar per hour raise, which is the best part, but equally awesome is that I will be working in the Administration building, which is literally five minutes from my house. It’s so close that the only extent to which I have to be on the highway is the two seconds it takes to go from exit to exit.

And my responsibilities are no longer primarily customer service! I will be working more directly with the branches and other employees now which, while presenting a slough of other unique challenges is much more preferable to working with the general public. I am so excited! SO excited!

I am going to finish out the standard two weeks with the Online team. That give the managers time to fill the positions that are going to be opening (I think I’m either cursed or posses good luck. Whenever I change departments it’s always when someone else is leaving the same department too. We have one lady who retires at the end of this week from Online also, so they are actually losing two people, just like Service lost two people when I transferred to Online).

But I can’t feel too bad about it. It’s a great move for me and puts me closer to what I really want to be doing in this industry. It’s only too bad I have to wait two pay periods to benefit from the raise. *Le sigh* oh well.

Yeah, so I guess the interview went swimmingly, despite the fact I went into it nervous as hell. That’s great! I just need to go shopping for new clothes now! I don’t really have the extra money to spend on clothes, but it’s necessary so I won’t dwell on it too badly.

Two dollars an hour. It seems like not that much, but wow will it make a difference to my savings account.

Well done! Congrats on the raise, and the new digs. I cannot imagine being so close to work! Wonderful news.
