Preparation

I finally went through my room and did a proper thorough cleaning. I ended up with two bags to things to throw away and two bags, a box, several pairs of shoes and two stacks of books to go to good will. 

I still feel like I need to get rid of more stuff. Or maybe get another bookshelf.

I was, however, able to fit all my remaining books onto one shelf again. I got rid of twenty five books total that I didn’t need any more or that I never read and have no intention of reading. Books are one of the things I have the hardest time letting go of, but I did really well this time around. 

I did go out and buy two more books though too. For shame, I know. But there’s a new printed edition of The Wheel of Time series that I absolutely love and intend to collect in order to replace the cheap, small paperback copies I have right now. These new ones run about 16.00 each, but I really think it’s worth it and I hope it can get me back into the series again because I haven’t read any of the new ones that were published after the author’s death and it makes me really sad. The series is ridiculously long though. I have about twelve of the books right now and there are more than that. 

I also bought Magician: Apprentice by Raymond E. Feist. The series was highly recommended to me some time ago and for some reason it didn’t get stuck in the forefront of my mind until recently. But the Riftwar Saga I’ve heard a lot about so I am not too worried about being disappointed. 

However, I’m still reading The Picture of Dorian Gray, and I’ve started the last book in the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini, called, well, Inheritance. This particular series I started years ago, and the last book just came out like the end of last year, but I didn’t break down and buy the last book until recently because I tried to read the first one again and the language is just too simplistic now. He started when he was only nineteen and his mastery of the written word has vastly improved since he first wrote Eragon. 

Another series that I’ve recently started thinking about again is The Saga of Recluse by L.E. Modesitt, Jr,. I found the first two books to be very, very good and have been looking on and off for the third one at Barnes and Noble, but they haven’t carried it for a long time and I just never bothered to ask if they could order a copy. I think that’s going to be my next endeavor. 

Shoot, I have to start the Ender’s Game series again as well. And the Dune series. 

I’m so screwed. 

Anyway, as I’ve said, I’ve cleaned out the room on this first go. I have a lot of stuff to go to good will, but I want to go over the room again and see if I can bear to give away anything else. I still feel like it wasn’t enough. We’ll see.

I’m going to work on my map now. Good day!
