Merry Christmas!

Ahhhhh, it was a good one this year, I have to say. So much fun, lots of cool things got and given. I hope everyone’s was lovely and that you all got everything on your Christmas lists!

Most of what I got was The Hobbit related because all the stuff for the new movie is just epic. I got TWO moleskin notebooks with the map of the Lonely Mountain on it. The smaller one was from Andy and the larger one from my cousin, Tanner. I got a letter opener that’s a scale replica of Sting, which is effing awesome. It came in a small wooden box and is currently sitting on my computer desk. I also, finally finally finally! got the collector’s edition copy of The Hobbit that I have wanted for years and  years but just never bought. It doesn’t have all the penciled in drawings like regular versions of the story, but the maps are epic and it’s got gold lettering on the front and comes in a protective coverbox. It’s beautiful! I love it!

Andy also bought me a box for the two and a half thousands magic cards I have. It fits all my cards! I don’t have them scattered all over my room any more! He also bought me the shirt that says Keep Call and Don’t Blink. It’s a Doctor Who reference.

What else.

Ah yes, I’ve got a fancy pair of 8 gauge earrings now too! They’re huge. I don’t know how I am ever going to fit them in my ears without tearing skin, but I’ve got to try because they are lovely dark wood and I really want to wear them properly. I am wearing them upside down right now because the gauge on the other end is smaller and seems like a logical step for me. My left ear is a ton more sensitive than my right ear though and resists stretching more than I think it should. It’s very frustrating.

AAAAAND I got an A-frame easel! I rearranged my entire room to accommodate it. I love it so, so, so much! I’m so exited to use it! I finally have an area in my room where I can properly sit and draw, instead of trying to just prop my drawing board on my knees while I’m sitting on the bed. Best gift ever!

My mom and sister are in town too! It’s so good to see them. My 14 year old sister is as tall as me now, which is weird, but she also seems to have mellowed out a lot, which is good. I wish I could take this week off to spend with them, but I don’t have any time off to use.

All in all it was a very good Christmas. And I only work four days this week. Awesome!

Oooh lovely easel! You’ll have much fun with that. I’m scared of those thick earrings. How do you get them in?? Or take them out??? I’d also be afraid of tearing my flesh? Does the stretching hurt? Glad you had a good one and got many cool things.
