INTERVIEW!

For those who don’t know me, I work for a financial institution in San Diego. I currently work in the call center handling behind the scenes problems with the online banking platform and it’s a decent job. I like it, more or less, for the steady thing it is, but ultimately, if I am going to stay in the finance world for any amount of time, I always wanted to deal with loans and eventually real estate.

Cross your fingers for me!

My manager has recommended me for a position as a funder-closer!

I would be the person who gets to make the decision on whether or not someone gets a loan. I’d work all the loan documents, look at the credit reports and member history and say YES or NO!

I submitted my application yesterday, turned in my resume today, and this afternoon my manager pulled me aside to let me know she was letting me off early because they want to interview me TODAY!

I don’t know how many people have applied for the job. I’m sure lots, but I know that, if I can manage the interview, it would be a perfect fit for me! I hate being a sales person, which is essentially what I am. I don’t like sales. I don’t like trying to shove products down member’s throats. Getting this job would make me more money, eliminate my need to talk to many members, put me five minutes from home instead of twenty, AND I would get to work in the admin building and that would be effing fantastic! They have their own gym and lunch room and everything!

The problem is that I nearly have a heart attack when I have to interview for anything. And this one is last minute. I won’t even be able to go home and put on actual business casual clothing (we work in jeans at the call center because we don’t have face to face contact with anyone else).

This will also mean I need to go shopping for actual work clothes. It’s been so long since I’ve had to do anything with business casual that I need to restock my wardrobe.

Please, please, please let me get this position!

Good luck! Good vibes, and don’t have a heart attack!
