Work Tangent
This is my entry from Friday night/Saturday morning after work. The entry that kept me up way too late.
Why did I make a pot of coffee? Starbucks coffee at that! Toomo told me that Starbucks has more caffeine then most of the other brands of coffee. Not that caffeine bothers me one bit but what am I supposed to do with this pot of coffee other than drink it?
Tonight work went fairly fast and there was no problems with the closing paperwork.
All the dealers on all the tables were smoking tonight. I dont me literally smoking but hot as in the customers were losing! We were busy and stayed busy all night. Sometimes I will jump into the rotation to give the dealers a break but I have discovered that when I do jump into the rotation I never get out of it. I just cant help it if they just dont get it. Take someone off just a few minutes early and the rotation will get back to them where they get a break. Tonight was bad for them because they would come off one table and have to get right back on another table. If I jump in to the rotation then I get behind on my work. The work that everyone could do but they just dont ~ like banding pull-tabs. Uncounted winning pull-tabs drives me absolutely bananas! It has always been a big deal to me yet no one else seems to care about keeping them banded.
Cocky just about got a how come and a why for right away today. Wednesday night I had two games go down. I did the audit on one game which needed to be double checked and one that I did not get to. Yesterday was my day off and he did the banking. Today when I went in to do the banking he had done nothing with either of the audits from Wednesday night.
I lingered at the office longer than I really needed to because I was watching a surveillance tape of the Bigs garage. Being the amateur detective that I am I was helping decide what was going on. Since I had to cash a check which was part of the opening cash I dropped that off at the site. Cocky was already there and punched in. He should have been doing the opening paperwork and getting the tables ready but rather than working he was playing Free Cell on the computer. I shut down his game and in a nice way let him know that I was not pleased with him because those audits were not complete. Of course he gave me some flimsy excuse that I did not even listen to. I am tired of his excuses and I am tired of his attitude.
Okay I am glad that I got that off my chest. I didnt even realize that it was there.
We have two different types of pull-tab audits. One is counting the prizes in a game and recording them in a zillion different places. This is the bag audits which gets counted twice on site then again at the office. There are only three of us on site that do the bag audits because I dont want just anyone doing them. These need to be done correctly before they reach the office. The other audit is weighing each game to count the number of unsold pull-tabs that are left in the jar. This is the one that determines our accuracy.
Speaking of accuracy ~ for the last quarter our jar accuracy was 99.3%. Do you know what that means? Managers bonus for yours truly and bigger bonuses for the rest of the team! Yeah! Go team! Having an exclusive cashier has finally paid off. I have tried this before but I could not keep myself from getting into the dealing rotation. I really had to battle with myself not to feel sorry for the dealers when they could not keep the rotation going.
Okay so I went off on a work tangent.
