Too Young to Wear Spikes

Oh what a day! Rush and rush until life’s no fun! That’s not true but that song did come to my mind.

I did not realize that it would take so long for the girls to get “just a trim” and Tyler to get a haircut. Even with one person working on each one of them all at the same time. Then it came rushing back to me when Tyler was about three I took him to the School of Hair Design ~ I said NEVER again because it took so long just to get a little boy style. (Never say never! But it took a long time!)

The girl’s did get their noses pierced. We went right from getting them pierced to Hot Topic to get “nose studs.” The pierce noses with the same size studs as they pierce ears. One of the instructors said that it depends on their own pain tolerance and they can be changed right away. So that is what they wanted to do.

Tyler was disappointed because I would not let him get his ear pierced. I told him that he could have it done when he is 12. That will give him three years to get over it. There are a lot of boys in the school that have their ear pierced so he might not get over it and he may hold me to that promise.

While the girls were picking studs he was looking around. He found a necklace that he wanted. Okay show me what you want! “What no! No you are not wearing spikes! You are too young to wear spikes!” So I am not as “cool” as I was feeling for letting my two little girls (12 and almost 14) get their noses pierced because I will not allow my 9 year old son wear a spiked dog collar.

Dick did notice that they had it done. We could not pass it off as gems glued to noses. I justified by telling him that Tyler wanted his ear done and I wouldn’t do it. Besides ~ I don’t care if he is mad about it.

I better get moving ~ I have some last minute details to take care of! I work today until 6.
Off and running like a lunatic!
