Shopping with the Girls

If you’d like to read about he Dru Sjodin case this is the link to the articles in the local newspaper

I was sitting here yesterday writing an entry and trying to get caught up with my faves. Since it was my day off and the only chance to get out of the house without the kids, I was going to write one more entry then head out the door to do some Christmas shopping. I got called to the school to pick up Tyler ~ he was sick. Can you say pathetic? When I got to the school he was already at the office just hanging in a chair. He looked so pathetic! So I brought him home, snuggled him up with a blanket and pillow in front of some cartoons. I listened to cartoons most of the afternoon while he slept.

When the girls got home from school they had a great plan of having Dick take them to town to do some shopping. I took them instead! They still needed a couple of presents for the teachers. They also did a “Secret Santa“ thing this year. It seemed like they each had at least three kids that they had to buy for. Alexa spent all her savings on her friends so I ended up buying all the Secret Santa gifts. That would have only been fair anyway since Nadine never saves her money or loses it.

They ended up with a gift for almost every staff member at the school. Nope, we are not buying grades ~ that is pretty hard to buy grades shopping at the Dollar Store. One can get some cute little trinkets for a dollar or two.

I set my mind to not using any of my credit cards to do Christmas shopping. If I can not pay for it nobody needs it! I just flat out refuse because I need to get them paid off! Well, guess what? I left home without the checkbook! Damn it anyway! So I am standing in the Dollar Store at the cash register owing the young man $2.14. In my purse and pockets I dug up $1.15! So on my credit card I have a transaction for $2.14, not to mention another one for ten something, and I would like to forget about the one at Wal*Mart! Did I say damn it anyway? Well, damn it anyway!

God help anyone who has to take Nadine shopping when she has a decision to make! This girl could not make a decision if her life depended on it. I have to set a time limit for her ~ not only when she is shopping for her friends, even when she is picking out a treat for herself. It has to come to me picking the treats and they all get the same thing.

We got home at 11:00 PM ~ on a school night! Then end of this school day marks the beginning of their Christmas vacation. Nothing but parties at school today.
