RIP

I did have to talk to Dick tonight.

I went to the girls’ basketball game (which they lost) so I was running late for work. I had already told Supe that I would be late but I would be there by 5:45. Since they decided to play another period (can’t call it a quarter because they played 5 periods.) I was later than expected. But I made cookies!

Rather than cleaning like a fiend like I would normally do being this upset I baked instead.

So we got home from the game, I changed clothes, and headed out the door ~ without the cookies. I was not far from home when I discover that I was going to work cookie-less after saying that I would bring cookies so I turned around and went back home.

Upon arriving in the driveway I saw Grace. She took off running but still one of the babies was in the driveway. I got out of my car and when the baby did not move I knew that I had run it over when I left the first time. I know that it sounds morbid but I wanted to make sure that it was dead. I wanted to be sure that it was not lying there just injured. It was dead and it was not a pretty sight! I am just sick about it!

I tried to get in and out with the cookies without any of the kids coming to the door and noticing the dead kitty. But as I went in Grace scooted in too so Alexa was going to put her back out and noticed the baby right away. I told her not to come out and yes it is dead and it is ugly.

So I had to call Dick to ask him to take care of it when he got home from work. I am not sure which one it was. It was either Big Jim or Smokey. It could have been Fluffy. It was one of the big furry ones. Poor baby! Poor Grace!

I called Supe and told him that I was on my way ~ because I was later than expected. He asked how long it would take so I told him about 20 minutes if I don’t hit a deer on this dark, gravel road. Blah, blah, blah ~ everything is fine and we hang up. About a mile down the road what do you suppose jumped out in front of me? If you guessed a deer you are right! I came so close to hitting that deer but I am aware of the deer population (even after hunting season) that I keep a good look out for those deer.

My cookies were a hit!

oh dear, i’m so sorry. {{hugs}} RIP little one

What a day you had that day! I’m so sorry for your baby kitten. That happens to so many people, including my own mother. She hit one of our dogs once and it had to be euthanized. She cried longer than we did as kids. (hugs) I am so glad that I put those ornaments on my tree. Thanks for your note on that. 🙂 Love you and Merry Christmas!
