Prom Dress Shopping

My weather do-hinky on my front page says 30° already. I hope that is accurate. I am not sure how warm it got yesterday but the sun was shining and it was warm. Maybe I should not get so excited because Dick said that we are going to get hit with a storm…up to 15 inches of snow. I don’t know if I am in denial or if I just don’t believe a damn word that Dick says. I don’t believe it so I am excited about the nice weather.

I went through the storage tub that I have in my closet. Can you believe that I was saving my college books. I went to a Business College so it is not like I could sell them back like in real college. I finally threw them out! I have been storing them since 1990. Why would one keep them? That tub was full at one point of just meaningless crap that I wanted to keep. Now it is only half full. Through the years I have been slowing throwing more and more meaningless crap where it belongs, in the trash. Since said tub is only half full I can go through my vanity drawers and fill it up. Maybe while transferring that meaningless crap I will throw it out instead.

I am a crap saver! I might need it some day. I guess if that day has not come in almost 20 years…I don’t need it.

I took Nadine shopping for a prom dress. She wanted to just settle. She found a dress for $35 that she likes. The dress that she chose is like one that they would wear to the Holly Ball. Yeah, it is a cute dress but it is not a prom dress. I told her not to just settle and tried to explain to her that prom dresses are not cheap and we have to expect to pay more that $100 for it. I would hate for her to be embarrassed & I think that she would be. She started out wanting a princess like dress but the one she chose is no where near princess-like.

Her date is urging her to hurry up and get a dress so that he can order his tux. I understand that totally but I don’t think that he has tried to shop for a prom dress in this town. Their prom is so early that most of the stores don’t have their stock yet. Wait just one minute here…I was told that the prom is April 10 ~ that is a Thursday. I know damn well that the prom is NOT on Thursday. I bet anything that it is May 10! If that is the fact I am going to tell Nay’s date to back off a bit.

I am going to Gazelle it for a couple of minutes then get into the shower! Must hurry!
