Pointless ~ Just Thoughts

I was up until way early this morning ~ after 4 AM. As I was getting ready to shut down the computer Dick woke up to get a drink of water and look out the window. What is he going to see in the dead of the night I am not sure of. I think this is a learned trait and he probably does it unconsciously.

I can remember how his mother would always tell me that his dad would get up in the morning and look out the window. He would stand by the window for a long time just watching the people who go by. They lived on a farm and their house was set back off the highway yet close enough to see passing vehicles. But in BFE how many cars actually go by? I guess it really didn’t matter. He would watch and if someone that usually went by didn’t he would know. Strange pastime but what the hay.

If Dick takes up the pastime it will have even less entertainment value ~ at least Ma and Papa could see the highway from their kitchen window.

He went back to bed after gazing out for a few minutes then I followed. We usually do not talk face to face during the week due to our work schedules. We talked for a bit. Actually I talked and he listened. I told him about the newest work incident. Previously being a bar owner himself, he knows where the responsibility lies!

I think that I lost the point to this entry when I went outside to retrieve the wading pool that was left here from the Clam Bake. JT said that the kids could keep it. Last week when Tyler took it out of the garage he did not put it away. With the wind that we had last night the pool ended up against my neighbor’s fence. So I went to get it ~ along with two basketballs, a football, a bouncy ball, a pair of short that were on the clothesline. Oh, I notice two iron posts out in the yard. Only God knows where those came from but I better go out and pick them up before someone decides to mow over them. That would not be so good on the mower blades.
