Interactive Kitchen

I guess I better write an entry before I get too engrossed in reading my favorites.

Today I spent much of my free time right clicking. I found an awesome site for free backgrounds and graphic. I saved so many sets to my computer that I decided to free up that space and moved them to a CD. I am glad that I did that because if my computer goes down I still have them.

Then I had to get to town before I went to work to pick up the kitchen that sister wants for her daycare. Rather than buying each child a gift she buys one big item for all of the children to all play with. It is a Step2 Interactive Kitchen with all the accessories.

So I went to the Sam’s Club web site and used the Click-n-Pull feature. They pull it off the shelf and it is ready for you to pick up. I did that Monday and got an E-mail telling me that I would get another E-mail telling me when it was pulled off the shelf and that I will have 72 hours to pick it up. They sent the second E-mail just before three pm Monday. Of course I did not check my E-mail until I got home from work.

Bright and early this morning they called me telling that it was ready and I should pick it up as soon as possible because they are selling fast and they will have to put mine back on the shelf. I told the girl that one the web site it says that I have 72 hours to pick it up ~ it has been less than 24 hours. To me she seemed like she was in a rushed panic.

So I try to arrange it so that I can drive the pick-up into town, pick up the kitchen, and have Dick bring it home so that it does not have to sit out in box of the pick-up while I am working.

I went to the garage to take the pickup out but I could not get the door open. Scrap that idea ~ now what?

I tried to arrange payment with my credit card over the telephone so that Dick would just be able to stop and pick up the kitchen. Do you have access to a fax machine? They need to fax me so I could sign then fax it back. Ummm no, no fax machine available. While I was talking to a manager he told me that they have plenty of the kitchens left. He knows that he has at least one pallet left in the back.

Using my really sarcastic voice I said “Oh, really? The gal that called me earlier was in a panic to get me to come and get it ASAP or they were putting it back on the shelf because they are selling so fast.” And I told him about he 72 hours. He told me “oh they are selling fast but each store does their own thing when it come to pulling an item off the shelf and how long they will hold it.” If that is the case then why does the web site just say that?

As it ended up I drove to town paid for the kitchen and Dick met me there with a work pick-up. He brought it home and in the house. So all did turn out the way it should have.

Now I have a big ass box with the damn kitchen sitting in my dining room. The next feat will be to get it across the state before Christmas. B’s son will not be going home between now and then but my sister did talk to a friend of his that might be going sometime soon. If nothing else Dick can take it to her on his long weekend. That was his idea!

I am not staying up for much longer since I am keeping the kids out of school so we can travel across the state to see two of my sisters, two of my brothers and my parents. They will be doing nothing tomorrow in school anyway. Now I can travel during the daylight hours rather than leaving after dark. I was supposed to work tomorrow ~ just a short open-5 PM shift ~ but I asked Supe to take it for me.

I have to get up and get packed, make sure that the kids packed everything that they will need. I just dread the getting ready to go ~ there is always something to set me off then I am pissy for the whole trip. Dick is not going with ~ if you can imagine that!

Work was steady tonight. Not too terribly busy but we all kept moving.

I am going to have to catch up with my favorites when I return. I have one eyeball open and one eyeball shut. Opportunity is knocking ~ the opportunity for me to actually go to sleep.

Take care and have a great Thanksgiving!
