I Should Be Packing!

We are leaving for Hometown today. I am sitting here thinking that I am waiting for the kids to get up. I am sitting here procrastinating about packing. Yeah you read that right ~ I am not packed yet. I can not pack in advance because I never know what I want to wear. I can hardly plan the night before how I may want to dress. I have to pack enough four days. What shall I pack? What shall I wear? What day shall I wear it? Ugh! I am truly a freak.

A few things that I did not touch on in my messed up entry that I posted last night this morning. I did mention that it has been raining for days on end. Well yesterday I am sure that I looked like the freak that I truly am when I was out in the rain washing my car with the hose, little tiny bucket, and scrub rags. Yeah my white car was dirty ~ I live in the country and travel gravel roads; of course my car is going to get dirty. That is not the reason that I was standing out in the rain washing my car. Tyler wanted to repaint the dog house that Sunshine built while he was here last summer. Okay, repaint the dog house. They did fine last summer when they painted it. Maybe they did fine because Dick was supervising. Ah, they don’t need supervision while painting the dog house or so I thought. I figured something was up when Alexa came in the house and did not want to help paint the dog house. I should have checked but I didn’t check until it was too late. I went out and the neighbor boy had paint on him from head to toe. I told him that his mother was going to have an absolute fit! Nadine was covered with paint from head to toe. Tyler was covered with paint from head to toe. (Why didn’t I take pictures?) The dog house looks horrible. There are hand prints on the steps ~ I think that those are cool. It is just a set of wooden steps nothing fancy. But my car on the other hand! I had Victorian Rose (a shade of maroon) and Baja Beige splattered on the front end and the hood of my car. I was none too pleased but I had planned on going to the car wash. It was raining! Did I really want to look as stupid as to go to the car wash while it was raining? Ah, not so much! Actually I forgot about that idea anyway. I did not want the paint to set ~ after all this is North Dakota. If you don’t like the weather just wait five minutes. The sun might shine and bake those spatters!

I should have taken pictures of those kids covered in paint. I made them spray off with the hose but someone did not get all the paint off because I noticed drips of paint on my dining room floor.

Someone will be re-painting the dog house ~ it looks horrible! I can tell you this ~ it will not be the children painting the dog house!

Ha! It sounds like they painted each other instead of painting the doghouse. Funny! Washing the paint off your car in the rain makes perfect sense to me. 🙂 Have fun in Hometown. 🙂

Sounds like you could have used the kids as paint chip samples. 🙂 – – – –
