I Locked My Keys in My Car ~ Again

Sunday:

Pretty much a lazy day ~ like that is anything different from any other day. I was watching Plastic Surgery Before and After. I should know better than to try to watch anything because I always fall asleep if I am not doing something else too. I tried to just sit and watch but ended up falling asleep.

When I woke up Dick was gone. He had to go get a part for Justin’s car. Okay whatever as long as I don’t have to look at him.

Tyler asked if we could go to town. I asked him what he wanted to do. He did not have any ideas ~ I think he just wanted to get off “the farm” for a while. We don’t actually live on a farm, just out in the country. So I started looking at what movies were playing ~ knowing how tough it is for me to make it through a movie in a dark theater I let the kids choose the movie. They chose to see Dukes of Hazard.

We went to Wal-Mart for treats to smuggle into the theater. I hit the ATM for cash since the theater takes no checks and Wal-Mart only lets you write the check for $10 over the amount ~ maybe it is $20 but even that is not enough. We walked out to the car and I am digging through my purse for my car keys. “Where are the damn keys?” Then Nadine said “the keys are in the car!” Seriously! I left my damn keys in the car and I locked the doors!

We packed the treats into Alexa’s little purse ~ it is so small that no one would suspect that there were three boxes of candy in it. Then we hiked over to the theater. Good thing that it was just across the parking lot and across 32nd Avenue. When we got there the girl at the ticket window was all flustered because she was running low on quarters and had no one dollar bills. First she charged me $36 for the three kids. She discovered that she had made a mistake. I specifically told her three, not four! She asked the kids’ age 9, 13, and 14. She thought that I was seeing the movie too ~ I guess that is logical but I told her that she gave me the four tickets. That really confused her until I told her that just the kids are seeing the movie. Eventually we got it straightened out.
When we went to the counter to get popcorn and soda I told the gal behind that counter that the ticket gal needs some cash and that someone should check on her. That poor girl was so flustered I felt bad for her. I got the kids their popcorn and sodas and they got settled in.

I had sent a text Dick to see if he had the extra key to my car on him. He did not reply so I called him. He would not answer his phone so I sent the same text to him again. He did reply to that. “No I don’t waz up” So being the bitch that I am I sent back “nothing you can do.” In the meantime I call the other person that has a key to my car in case of emergency to no avail. Ugh!! Now what?

I went back into Wal-Mart looking for a wire hanger. They did not even have any for me to purchase but while I was at the Customer Service desk I notice a fly swatter hanging on the wall. I can buy a fly swatter, remove the swatter and use the wire handle. That is what I did! As I was shaping the wire three boys were walking by and stopped to help me. They got my car open!

I don’t know what I am going to do with myself! I am constantly locking my keys in my car! Maybe I should put one on each of the other sets of keys that I carry ~ work keys and house keys. If I am doing the banking and lock my keys in at least I will have my work keys on my body because I use them to open the bank bags and drop boxes. The house keys are usually in my purse and get used very little. I could put a key in my gas tank door. I used to have one attached by a magnetic box on the underside of my car but that fell off ~ I assume that it rattled off from driving on gravel roads. I could keep a key on site. I could keep a key at the bank attached to the key that they have to use to open the drop boxes. I could give keep a key at the office. I could give one to someone else that is more readily available. Who could be at my beck and call?

All the kids really liked the movie!

LOL…that would be a lot of keys! Why don’t you just stick an extra one somewhere in your purse? 🙂

LOL! I locked my keys in the trunk just this last mother’s day! LOL

I used to have an extra key in my wallet in case I needed it. Now I have a hubby and he has the extra key.
