Friday of a Long Weekend
Friday: I had to go to town to get some cash. I had cash for the weekend but I spent it all! Lets just be stupid when you know you have a lot going on and you need not to be spending money so foolishly! Okay I scolded myself again for playing pull-tabs.
Nadine went to Fargo for the Chorus Festival. I was suppose to go down and stay with her but I decided to stay here and help supervise the 6th grade basketball team. It made more sense to me to watch Alexa play ball as I could see what she was doing. Nadine was singing big Choir ~ I would have never been able to pick her voice out of the crowd.
One of the mothers that went was mad at me for not going. Actually she was not mad that I didnt go but because she would have to pay for the room all by herself. Originally she called me and invited Nadine to go to this with her daughter. Stating that Nadine could ride down with them and stay with them in the motel room. Blah, blah, blah. Then we got talking and she invited me to go with. I agreed to go. But when I told her that I was unable to go because I still had Tyler to worry about she was mad about having to pay for the whole room. As I saw it she was going anyway and originally invited just Nadine to go. (Okay I am talking in circles.) But I did pay for the room for one night; she paid for the room for one night so she has nothing to be mad at me about. I sucked it up! Like $30 was going to break me!
So I used Tyler as an excuse not to go to Fargo and stay in Grand Forks instead. He actually stayed with a friend Friday night. But that was planned late.
GW and I spent the night in a suite with five 11-year-olds. They were actually pretty well behaved and we had no major little-girl drama.
The coach warned them about the first team that they were scheduled to play. He told them that they are a really tough team and in this tournament if there was no blood there was no foul. They were pretty much prepared to get stomped on because there was only one other team that was not a traveling team. It would still be a good experience and he wanted them to have fun.
Well this super tough team beat them by one bucket! Had Alexa been on I think that these girls could have done some damage to that team. I think it has something to do with the high ceilings ~ yes I am making excuses for why she only made one basket in three games. But that is so uncharacteristic for her! They got rocked pretty hard the second game that they played. Then Saturday morning they played the other non-traveling team. This was a team that Alexa would be playing on had we not moved. She went to Kindergarten and First grade with these girls. Now I know that my daughters are not the ball players that I think that they are. They are good compared to their teammates (not being prejudice just truthful) but compared to other girls, to put it bluntly, they aint shit! I am so glad that I have Alexa signed up for a basketball camp this summer. Nadine is too old for that camp but I am going to find one for her to go to if she wants to. They lost to the team from Up North too!
