Easter

If you’d like to read about he Dru Sjodin case this is the link to the articles in the local newspaper

Did I say that I had a bad feeling about going to J and P’s for dinner? It is not that the food was bad just not traditional and very boring. Turkey, wild rice, stuffing, and some potato chunk concoction, and pickles. No olives. No salad. No Cole slaw. No pie. No fruit salad. No deviled eggs. It is a good thing that I brought a whipped Jell-o otherwise there would have been nothing sweet. She had buns and I asked if she wanted me to put them with the other food. No we will have them later. Okay, so no buns either. I don’t know what’s wrong with her! I go all out when I cook a holiday meal!

This is the last time that I go to J and P’s for a holiday meal. My first holiday away from my family was a bad encounter so I started cooking. If I don’t go “home” for a holiday I do the cooking and I will continue to do the cooking and I will invite them out here.

I had already warned the kids not to say anything. Try a little bit of everything and if you don’t like it keep your mouth shut and don’t eat it. P gets offended very easily and they know that from one time at the lake. P made macaroni and cheese. Tyler said to her “my mom makes cheesier macaroni and cheese.” She told him off. I was shocked that she would be so offended by a six-year-old. But then again she does not have children of her own.

I delivered the basket to Derek that the “Easter Bunny” left here for him. We had a nice visit although it was short. Dick tried to tell that he is past getting an Easter basket. I told him that if it comes to believing in the Easter Bunny then they are all past getting an Easter basket since Tyler asked me if they could have Skittles for Easter.

Kids are never past getting an Easter Basket. That would be like getting no Christmas gifts.

I usually put the extra candy on plate and leave that on the table. I have been so disgusted with Dick lately that I did not even do that when I did the baskets last night. I was mad when I got home. Dick was at the neighbors ~ obviously drinking. The kids were still up and roaming around but the girls hurried off to their rooms when I pulled into the driveway. The mess from coloring eggs was still in the sink. I don’t know what is wrong with them either. So I was really ticked off! We have a dishwasher! I should start making them do the dishes by hand. They appreciate the dishwasher enough!

I was very agitated because I was unable to get on the computer to vent because Dick was still awake. So I was watching “Critical Hour.” Dick decided that he wanted to tell me about his job. Under sober circumstances I would have been more than happy to listen to him tell me about his day, job, or anything else that he wanted to talk about. But when he has been drinking I don’t even want to look at him let alone listen to his voice. I have been trying really hard not to get angry but I am bitter! I really should have listened to him last night when he started talking about his mother. I did try to sound interested but he was talking about things that happened before I met him. Had I showed more interest maybe he would have talked about more recent things. That is only the second time we have talked about his mother since she passed away over four years ago. The first time we were having an argument (can’t remember what we were arguing about) but he mentioned something about missing her or something. I had to remind him that he was not the only one that lost a loved one. (Wow that was an emotional memory for me.)

I must get this posted so that Alexa can use the computer to do her Science Fair project. I told her that I am not doing it. So I better let her get at it! Later
