Continuing the Rant
I was on my way to do the banking but I called my supervisor and asked him to do it for me. I got through the snowdrift just fine because there has been a few big vehicles that went through it already this morning. I got to the end of the gravel road and I was ready to enter the highway. Look around and what do I see? Four vehicles in the ditch ~ all less than a mile away. So what does the rest of the highway look like? I do not want to know! Alexa decided to come with me to town so I was not going to take any chances with her in the car. Had I been alone I would have thought about it and I probably would have made the same decision. I have lost my sense of adventure and do not take many risky chances. So here I sit in front of my computer ready to continue the weekend rant.
Sunday: The day that Dick was supposed to take the kids to town to go shopping. Everyone was up and anticipating the day. Breakfast first then plans to leave at 1 PM.
Dick gets a phone call from L. The same guy that he did the tires for Friday night. L was stuck in the Semi and needed to be pulled out. It is 12:30! So Dick thought that he could just push the plans off on to me.
Under my breath and between my teeth I told him you are the one that made these plans with the kids. You are the one that postponed it yesterday so that you could go to your friends house to drink. This is your promise; this is your responsibility. This just goes to show one more time where your priorities lie and that is not with the kids.
I did not plan on going to town Sunday. I am not used to having to work five days in a row ~ granted one was meetings but *my feet and legs were really bothering me. Going to the mall is not my favorite thing to do when I am in this condition.
*I think that I need my hip adjusted so it is causing all sorts of pain that I normally do not have.*
I got ready to take the kids to town. They should not have to put their plans on the back burner just because that is where Dick placed them. Just as we were getting ready to leave he came home. So we all ended up going to town, to the mall.
We are still waiting for Nadine to decide what she would like to have for her birthday that was January 22. I should just find something and tell her happy birthday because she can not make a decision to save her soul.
KB Toy Store is closing here so there is a big sale going on. We were browsing through there. Tyler found some Mighty Beans for $4 and Nadine found a Care Bear ~ the orange one that she has wanted for forever ~ that was $12, regular price $19.99. Alexa and Dick had already taken off to JC Pennys by that time so after Nadine and Tyler made their purchase we ventured to JC Pennys. They were looking at basketball shoes. Alexa finally decided on a pair ~ regular price $35.95, sale price $29.99. That is not all that great of a savings but when consider Tylers Sketchers regular price $39.95, sale price $9.94. Now that is what I call a deal. I even got flannel pajamas ~ Regular price $30, sale price $8.
I have wanted flannel jams since I bought Dick a pair of flannel sleep pants for Christmas. Now I have my own so I can stop threatening to take his. My jams are lavender with snow flakes. Swirled around the bigger snowflakes it says let it snow…let it snow…let it snow…walking in a winter wonderland…let it snow…let it snow…let it snow.
After the mall we went to Wal*Mart. Nadine was supposed to look for a pair of shoes but we forgot. She and I both forgot to look at shoes for her…thats bad! I was hungry or maybe I just wanted to eat because we bought nothing but munchies, snacky-snacks, sparkling flavored beverages, and soda. Oh well, its not like we will never go to Wal*Mart again.
It is snowing right now, big fluffy flakes. It is going to be a mess by the time I have to go to work. The wind blowing snow across the highway, just polishing it nice and slick then add snow to the top of it. Yikes!!!
I am going to get back to work on our taxes and see what I can come up with.
Warning Comment
