Columbia Find

I could be doing something productive. Oh wait ~ I am doing something productive…I am doing laundry. But I could be doing other things that need to be done around here. I have really let it go and my house is a cluttered mess. Not to mention the dirt on the floor ~ I think that the kitties pulled a plant that I have just sitting in water roots and all with a clump of potting soil on it. That is what it looks like to me. I could sweep that up. I have better things to do like writing an entry.

I did go to the thrift stores looking for pants for Tyler. I don’t know what I was thinking. Boys this age do not outgrow their clothing. They wear them out! Not to my surprise (once I realized this) there are no pants for Tyler at a thrift store.

I did get the girls each a Columbia coat ~ both with zip in/out liners. I paid $8 for one and $7 for the other. I found them in the ladies coat section at the thrift store so they are in very good condition. I should have picked up that one winter jacket for myself. It is not a Columbia but it is Cabin Creek with the zip in/out liner. I did not look at the price on it because it was something that neither of the girls would wear and I was not thinking of myself at that point.

I knew that I was going to be in town and I knew that Tyler had a basketball game that Alexa would be cheering for. This game would be taking place about 10 miles from town. I asked Nadine to ask the BB coach if she could ride the bus and I would just meet them all at the game. She called me to tell me that she was not able to ride the bus. I tired to call the coach to beg ask if Nadine could please ride the bus. I did not get to speak to him since he was not answering his cell phone or the phone in his classroom. So I called back to the school wanting to know if Nadine got on the bus to go home. “I don’t know.” Now find the snottiest voice you can possibly find! That is how I was answered! I could not even respond to this!! I just hung up.

I once worked in a grocery store and we were told that “I don’t know” is NEVER an answer to anything. How about “I am not sure but I will find out!”

That thought came creeping back into my mind. This is not the first time that this woman has treated me this rudely ~ rudeness just comes to her so easily.

So…I have no damn clue where Nadine is. I have to find her and get to the game. I ended up driving home, calling back to the school, (speaking to a different friendly voice) going to the school, and driving to the game. Nadine was at after school activities.

Rather than just letting Nadine ride the bus and me driving about 10 miles I had to drive 18 miles to get Nadine. Eighteen miles back to town then the 10 miles to the next town. I certainly hope that the coach asks no favors of me. I refuse to go out of my way to do anything for him and/or the school.

My volunteering days are over. I will not have to ride on a cow shit scented bus ever again. I will not have to run the halls and steps at the event center, will not have to spend money and my time getting ready for their school carnival. Stick a fork in me, I am DONE!

This seems so trivial now that I am writing about it but it is not the fact that Nadine could not ride the bus. I now realize how full that bus must have been ~ they have a big boy’s basketball team. It is the fact that I was treated so rudely.

When I went to the school to get Nadine had the principal not been in a conference I would have stopped in her office. It would not have been pretty! I am just tired of R and her R (rudeness.)

These little boys ~ grades 3 and 4 were playing boys in grades 5 and 6. It is fun to watch these little, inexperienced boys play ball. Tyler likes to hog the ball and he does not watch for his teammates that are open to pass the ball to. I must speak to him about that.

Time to change the laundry around.
