Chili Makin’

Once again I sit here at this idiot box. It is (again) very late or very early whichever way you think about 3:44 AM.

Who starts making chili at almost 2 AM? *Raising my hand* I am. Dick mentioned that since they are now open 24/7 they are going to take turns bringing food because they are just too busy to leave ~ even to grab a quick bite to eat. One guy brought soup the other day. I told Dick that I would make chili. So I am making chili and as I write I have it simmering in the crock-pot. Once it gets hot enough to sample I am going to bed. I can hardly send a pot of chili for others to eat without testing it first. What if it is really gross?

Actually I made two batches of chili. One as stated above and another one because the kids were all excited thinking that they were getting chili for supper tonight. Sorry to crush all your hopes!

It is the beginning of a new quarter again! The same hassles of getting up and running, getting all the old paper work to the office, and just all the mundane crap that goes along with the new quarter. But let’s just throw one more wrench into this already hectic time. Just for fun let’s drop off the wrong box of pull-tabs but not plan on dropping the rest of the shipment to the storage place until the next day.

Okay I am sure that no one understands this unless you are or have been in gaming. There is a sticker on each deal of pull-tabs ~ this is called a state stamp because these stickers are tracked by the state. I think it is more of a security thing than anything else. The state knows who should have had that deal and who really has that deal. Most of the time it is accurate but there have been times that it has not been accurate. Wrong stamp on the deal.

But anyway, we have to use the deals starting with the lowest number on the state stamp. Not realizing the mistake that he delivery person made Cocky filled two of the jars that were already played out ~ using the wrong games of course! Arg!

Did you happen to weigh the jar before you added the deals? Uh, no! So that was one more extra ditty that I had to do today. Weigh a jar, take the tickets out of the jar that had not been weighed, and put them in the jar that has been weighed. Not that big of a thing, just extra work for me on an already busy morning. Since Cocky has class or lab on Wednesday he was not there to help me like he has been since he started. We work well as a team doing this job. I had to do it all alone today. 🙁

I inventoried all my deals and brought the right deals to the site.

I was on site from 10:30 AM until after 3:30 PM and still had my shift to work. I guaranteed Cowboy that I would not be in at 5. I had to get groceries before I went home. I got home at around 5. Took a fast nap and I slept hard! It felt good. Got up and ready for my shift.

I am so happy! The Bigs came in tonight and there was actually someone standing behind the second table. Yay Team! I put out the warning ~ short and sweet ~ Someone better be behind that table as soon as possible ~ right after bingo. I guess there comes a time when we all have to be a bitch.

Chickadee worked tonight without pissing me off! That is a plus.

I think that chili should be okay now. I am not tasting it, I am not in the mood to taste it so I am putting in in the fridge for a couple of hours before Dick is up and taking it to work when he goes. I can pray that it is good and who would actually say otherwise. If they do ~ ask me if I care! Not right now I don’t ~ I am tired and I am starting to get snide so it must be time for bed.
