Usually today would be my day off. Even though I had Monday off it still feels like it should be my day off. Instead I have tomorrow off because we were going to have Nadine’s birthday party. The party would start after school Friday and continue most of the day Saturday ~ or so that was the plan. The plan changed because the girls have a basketball tournament. Rather than looking forward to spending the day at the “beauty school” with a group of teenage girls I am looking forward to spending the day at a basketball tournament with even more teenage girls.

I don’t want to leave the house but I have to bank and open today. At the last minute last night I tried to trade with Curly ~ telling him about he cancelled birthday party plans but he wouldn’t go for it. All the days of the week are pretty much the same to me. He is still young enough that the days of the week (weekends) matter. I want today off! (Yep, I am whining!) The weather is crappy, temperatures are not so bad but it is doing something out there between raining and snowing. It could be a little bit of both yet tomorrow is supposed to be worse.

I went to Wal*Mart after work last night to get the girls winter boots. They have a field trip to go sledding Friday and they can not go if they don’t have boots. They did not have boots because they will not wear them. I would not buy them before because it was just a waste of money. Do you know how hard it is to fine a pair of winter boots in the middle of January? It would be easier to find a pair of strappy sandals! Come on folks this is ND ~ we need to buy winter clothing until the end of March. At that time when the kids lose a glove and still need to wear them ~ good luck finding any! Right now I can buy a winter jacket on clearance but next month all I will be able to find are spring jackets. Ugh I get so frustrated. Yeah I should get while the getting is good but I don’t need a new winter jacket right now!

I want to stay home and read my book! I would take a book to work so that I could read if I get a chance but the book that I am reading right now is a three in one ~ big book. It is against policy to read anything other than company material while on duty so hiding this book would be a major deal if I needed to hide it in a hurry! So I have to be a good girl and not bring my big book to work with me. I still need to get my book back from the “beauty school.” When I had the girls there before Christmas I left my book behind when we left. I am almost done with it and it was getting really good. Gone! I tried to have Perky get it for me but she has not been to school for a long time. I talked to her last night about getting back to school. All she would say is “I know!”

Boys will come and go but a career can last forever. She is talented and has a gift from God but she is wasting it on a boy. She is too into this boy to go to school. It just makes me sick! The boy has not been to school in weeks either. These two want to throw away their careers for each other! Smart and talented both of them ~ yet so stupid.
