Another Weekend from Hell!
It is 3:45 AM! I am not still up! I am up for the day! Yikes! I picked the wrong week to get all mixed up.
Saturday night was a night from hell at work. The weekend was a weekend from hell. Starting with the terminated girl so we had one less body than expected from the time that I posted the schedule. Friday night was not so bad because I had Curly there with me to help get things done for closing. (I think I need to change his name because he does not have his curls anymore. Shortly after he started he got all his hairs cut and now keeps his hair short ~ so no more Curly. Ah, hell I will still call him Curly.)
Saturday night was a different story! I had two fairly new employees and one really new guy that I will call Giant. He is just so big and so tall ~ football player type big.
Four guys wanted to play cards but being short staffed I told them that I would open the table but I had to close it at 11 when Cowboy leaves. They were fine with that. Then the Bigs came in and all the tables were full. Those guys didnt hang around until 11 they just wanted to play for a bit. So the Bigs got on the table. Now how do I tell them that I am shutting down this table at 11. I cant! Shit shit! They left but their son stayed around. I wanted to tell his care attendant that I am shutting down this table at 11 but I didnt do that either.
Let me tell you about his care attendant with the disclaimer that I was temporarily insane when I gave her the reference. What was I thinking? I think that every time they come through the door. What was I thinking?
She used to work for me and it got to the point that I could not handle her non-stop talking. On and on and on and on. I am not kidding this girl can talk. It got to the point that I would say Breathe, Talker, Breathe! (I would use her real name.) It was my way of saying shut the hell up! In the end I had to terminate her for being very rude to a very good customer.
So when the Bigs asked me about her I told the truth. She is a good worker if you can handle the non-stop talking. Not once did I consider the amount of time that their son spends at our site. This has lead me to believe that I was temporarily insane. What was I thinking?
We stayed busy with all three tables running and the pull-tabs going out as fast as one could count them. (Speaking of which I already had the warning that the player will be in at opening.) Me with three new kids makes it a night from hell for me.
At closing time I counted what needed to be counted in case of a break-in or something just so we know what was there. Threw everything into the safe and we were out of there. Still not until 1:20 which pisses off the bar owner.
When I go banking today I will have to do all the closing paper work but that is no big deal. I think from now on that is the way it should be. Count the chips, count the cash, and be done. If there is a shortage or long the money can be moved later.
So that was S-A -T-U-R-D-A-Y night! I survived!
