If you’d like to read about he Dru Sjodin case this is the link to the articles in the local newspaper

While I was at work it dawned on me that I had been changing my front page. Then I got distracted doing other nonsense. So I thought that I did not finish decorating. I thought that I had left a big mess ~ it was so distracting at work. I looked when I got home and everything is fine. Whew! At least this is a small thing to stress about!

Today I decided that I would not terminate Mr. No-show. I decided that I would give him a second chance just like I have given everyone else in the past. I talked to my supervisor and we agreed that he gets a second chance. Well, he took his second chance tonight when he did not show up for work! I did not have to terminate him. I guess he quit. This is not a fresh 21-year-old this is a 28 year-old man that should have higher priorities when it comes to a job. To each their own!

I went to work and even got there on time. I left earlier than I usually leave due to all the new fallen snow. I am lucky that I did leave early ~ what a mess the gravel road is. Only one side was open and that was the westbound side, I was traveling east. This road has a blind curve and a hill ~ talk about scary. I proceeded with caution on the snowy side of the road up that hill. I took the chance of going in the ditch rather than being hit head-on.

One night I was on my way home from work when the road was clear. For some reason I decided to stop at the top of the hill and move over as far as I could without getting stuck in the snow that was on the edge of the road. Two vehicles came up the hill in the middle, well more on my side of the road than their side of the road. I think that could have been ugly or maybe they would have moved over had they seen my headlights. People who are avoiding driving the highway because they have been drinking usually use this road. Apparently they do not know that the police are always on that road just looking for them.

Man, oh man did we get the snow. My driveway is a mess! Dick is going to be so mad at me for pulling in closer to the house. Sunday he parked my car at the end of the driveway so that I would be able to get out and trying to keep the drifts from forming in the driveway. Well the drifts still appeared and I had to walk through them to get to my car but I was able to get out. Tomorrow might be a different story because I drove up to the garage but I had to leave room so that Dick would be able to get out of the garage. Yikes! I did not want to walk all the way from the end of the driveway. I was carrying two 2-liter bottles of soda ~ one for me and one for the kids that was given to me for them by a customer, a tin of donuts, and my 2-quart water bottle.

In the process of driving in and trying to turn around I broke my thumbnail! I did not accomplish the task of turning around. I hope it is a bit warmer than -13.6°F. that is what it was when I got home.
